Hey, I'm Joseph, or Jojo for short. I'm 22 years old. My father is Australian and my mom is Filipino. I have an older sister, Jessa who's 7 years older than me. Our mom is in the Philippines while my dad is living with us here in Australia. They're divorced, but they manage to maintain a healthy friendship for us. My sister is leaving to America for work and won't be back for a couple of years. My dad decided to send me to live in the Philippines with my mom for a better education, so I can be like my ate- hardworking and intelligent. I'm the youngest in our family. I come from a line of honor graduates. My great grandmother and grandfather graduated top of their class in the late 1800's. My grandparents graduated with full scholarships, my parents both finished college with awards, and my sister is about to get her Bachelor's degree at Harvard.
Wow, that puts a lot of pressure on me.
My mom wanted me to go to the Philippines immediately.
So I did.
She decided to send me to a university in Makati, since she was already living there. My dream to be a cum laude/valedictorian will never leave my heart. Maybe that's why I've never had a girlfriend.. I'm too focused on my studies, so basically I'm a nerd. But that's because I want to have a bright future. Not like my friends who've done drugs, gotten some girls pregnant, and dropped out of school. I have no time for snobby girls who would break my heart and leave me hanging. But hopefully, there's that one girl out there that will look beyond all that and love me for me.
