Where's Jojo?

When I went to school the following day, I was searching for Jojo.
..Well, I always do. We have first class together anyways, I always find him in the main hall reading some type of book. Different books each day.
Anyways. I went to the main hall to meet Jojo for class.
But he wasn't there.
I figured he was gonna be late, so I waited for a few minutes. In fairness, I got to school early so I have some time.
Fifteen minutes passed and Jojo never showed up. I've been texting him for a while and he hasn't responded.
But then I think I found the answer to my problem.
I saw Nathan. Jojo's friend.
"Nathan!" I yelled to him as he approached me.
"Hey Sof!" He said.
"Do you know where Jojo is? I've been waiting here for a while and he hasn't been answering my texts or calls.
"No.."
I sighed. "Nathan come on, I know you're lying."
"No Sofie, I'm serious. I don't know where he is. I've been messaging him also. We had a basketball game last night and he didn't show up."
"Ganon? Okay then. Thanks anyways."
Knowing that he wasn't gonna show up, I just decided to leave for class.
I went to get my geography book out of my locker. When I opened it, a note fell out.
"You're just like the sun. You light up the whole world. 😉"
Wow. So sweet! I wonder who this is.
The bell rings as soon as I closed my locker.
Great. First class of the day and Jojo isn't here yet.
I went to geography class and we had a surprise pop quiz.
I looked around as people entered and Jojo still isn't coming.
15 minutes into the test, someone rushes into the classroom, panting.
"Mr. Lorenzo. You're late. Sit down." Our professor said.
Wait. Lorenzo.. It's Jojo! I turned around and there he was. Heaving and sweating.
He sat down and I whispered to him "Where did you go?!"
He whispered back that he'll tell me after class.
The bell rang. Jojo and I walked to our next class.
"Joseph. Where were you this morning." I said grumpily.
He hesitated. "I had something to do. Sorry."
I let that problem slide and continued what we had going on.
