As the small but fierce-appearing woman descended the stairs, Rosalie shrank a bit into Serafina's side. She watched as the older woman neared the bottom of the stairs, and the same tall blonde-haired man with green eyes she had met before reached out and offered his hand to her as she approached the landing. He then escorted his wife to meet Serafina and Rosalie at the door.

The woman never smiled, but the man smiled a friendly smile as he looked at Rosalie. It faded once he got a good look at her face, but he quickly brought it back: "It's good to see you again, Rosalie," he said.

"Ah, si, you have met before because you were invited to dinner while I was not," the woman complained in her heavily accented English. But as soon as she got a better look at Rosalie's face, her icy demeanor vanished as she gasped. Rosalie was embarrassed and tried to look away, but Serafina's mother didn't allow her to. "Pobrecita, who did this to you?" she whispered. But then she remembered, "It was the husband." She deduced as she lowered her hand and gave her daughter a knowing look.

Serafina nodded in agreement. Her anger slowly bubbled back up, and she couldn't help but glare at the mention of the horrible man.

Magdalena suddenly gasped again, "Y el bebe? He didn't touch him, did he?" Even Luther stiffened at the thought. Women and children were off-limits in his gang. To harm a child was the most evil, in his opinion, as they were innocent. The older couple looked toward the baby boy cradled in his mother's arms.

"No, he didn't touch my son," Rosalie reassured the couple. She was touched they cared.

Magdalena sighed in relief. "Is he sleeping?" she asked, bringing her voice down to a whisper after realizing she was being a bit loud. Rosalie nodded in agreement. Magdalena then turned back to the room full of people. "Esme, please take my nieto to sleep with Henry," she said to Esme.

Esme quickly made her way over. She reached out to Rosalie but didn't take her son from her. She waited for Rosalie to hand him to her. Rosalie seemed hesitant but looked to Serafina, who smiled reassuringly. "He'll be safe," she assured her, and only after hearing that did Rosalie hand the boy over.

"What's a nieto?" Rosalie asked quietly to Serafina, but she was overheard.

"Grandson," Luther answered with a grin.

Rosalie began blushing. It was from both being heard and being so readily accepted by her lover's parents.

This reaction brought a smile to Magdalena, "You're perfect. Tan hermosa, como mi hija." She said as she cupped her unharmed cheek. "And it's perfect because now I have a grandbaby! Dios knows I've been waiting so long for that one to give me one," she said, swinging her arm with exasperation toward a handsome man in the corner with a beer in his hand.

"I'll settle down when I'm old," the man said with a mischievous grin. "Welcome to the family. I'm Sera's big brother, Angel. That makes me your new big brother. If you need anything, just let me know, little sister," he finished while holding his beer up to Rosalie in a salute.

"You are old," Serafina muttered.

"Be nice," Rosalie said lowly as she patted Serafina's stomach, causing her to stop.
