y/n's pov.

i usher paige out of my room, "i'm meeting hudson in 30 minutes to go out, you and the team can meet us there if you'd like." i smile, scooting her out of the doorway. she groans, leaning on the inside of my door. "fine, but i'll see you soon?" she smiles, placing a peck on my lips. i gasp, as i just told her we weren't doing this yet. "yes, i'll see you soon." i shove her out of the door playfully, before turning to get dressed. hudson was picking me up from my dorm in 30 minutes, and i was no where near ready.

i picked out a classic little black dress to wear, along with some red kitten heels. as i started on my makeup, i felt my phone start blowing up. i assumed it was paige before reading, "3 missed calls from kate martin." i know for a fact this wasn't kate. i also cannot answer caitlin, i'm nowhere near ready to face her. i ignore it and continue getting ready.

"hey pretty lady!" i hear, hudson from behind me. "do you just always walk in unannounced?" i ask, turning around to face my best friend. "well, yes." she smiles, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of my dorm. i smile for the first time in a week, genuinely. i needed this.

we arrive at the bar closest to campus, it was absolutely packed. it was loud, and crowded. "all i need is a drink!" i yell over the music, dragging hudson behind me to the bar. i'm assuming it's mostly athletes here tonight, because everyone is ridiculously tall.

"excuse me!" i yell to a group of girls at the bar. maybe i can get in through here. as the girl spins around, i'm met with a familiar face. "oh, sorry!" she smiles, before meeting my eyes. her face immediately drops. "hi." she breathlessly whispers.

"hi cait." i smile.

caitlin's pov.

i'm standing face to face with y/n auriemma, in a crowded, packed bar. the last place i wanna be with her. "you're here." i whisper, the loud music drowning my voice out. "well i do live here, caitlin." she says coldly, crossing her arms and leaning onto the bar. i hear her order a vodka soda which is her usual. "put it on my tab" i smile to the bartender who just shoots me a nod.

"so, was she a good kisser?" she smirks turning to me. i shake my head, i knew she would bring it up, but damn. "she was drunk." i sigh, trying to explain myself. "and she's here!" y/n groans at alyssa approaching us.

"oh my gosh! hi! i'm alyssa, you must be y/n! i've heard so much about you from caitlin!" alyssa exclaims, drunk again. not reading the room whatsoever. "pleased to meet you." y/n greets flatly. alyssa smiles before going back with the rest of the team. what amazing timing.

"your girlfriend seems nice." y/n giggles, sipping on her drink. "she's not my girlfriend, sunshine." i say, scooting myself closer to her. her head immediately faces me as she hears "sunshine"
and to be fair, i missed calling her that.

"what happened then, cait?" she mumbles, looking up at me, with tears flooding her eyes. "a drunken game of spin the bottle. gabbie fucked me over." i say, placing a hand on her shoulder, bringing her closer to me. "i was waiting on you, i promise, sunshine."

her eyes light up, disbelief mixed with joy. i know her. "i don't know, cait." i feel myself reach down for her, until i'm rudely interrupted.

"i know." i hear from behind me. as i turn to meet the voice, i'm met with a fist to my jaw. i just got punched in the fucking face. before i can register what the hell happened, i hear y/n yelling.

"paige! stop!" she yells, throwing herself between us. "you crossed a line, clark!" she yells from behind y/n. my first instinct was to punch the girl back, but i'm being held back by kate. "you're a whore! you used her!" paige yells, still fuming as y/n comforts her.

"i didn't do shit, bueckers!" i yell, trying to throw myself at her. what the hell did she know about y/n and i? she must know about alyssa. "please." i hear y/n's cries, which soften the anger i have.
i hear kate ushering me out, knowing this will be plastered all over social media. "we'll settle this on the court, bueckers!" i yell, being whisked away by my team.

paige's pov.

i feel myself reach down knuckles burn with pain, and the music is too loud. the room feels dizzy. "paige, what the hell?" y/n cries out in front of me, her head in her hands. i don't know what came over me. i saw caitlin going to kiss her, and i couldn't take it. "she was just making out with some girl a week ago!" i yell, acknowledging the picture that y/n was in shambles over.

"it wasn't willing, it wasn't cait. she kissed her" y/n sighs, placing a wet cloth on my bleeding knuckles. i collect myself as i hear those words. "i'm sorry, auriemma." i softly whisper, placing my hand ontop of hers.

"you need to go, i'll walk you home." she laughs softly. it was ironic honestly. she was playing the hell out of both of us. she leads me out of the bar, continuing to hold onto my bleeding knuckles.

"i hope the doesn't fuck up your game tomorrow" she whispers. "oh, it's game on now." i smile.
