y/n's pov.
i felt arms wrapped around my waist, and my legs entangled with someone's. i slowly open my eyes to a sleeping caitlin. she looked the most peaceful i think i've ever seen her. usually she's energetic and always moving, but she looked so serene. her usual slick and straight hair was messily tousled. i felt her calm breathing, as my head laid on her chest. her heart beat rhythmic and slow. i knew we needed to get up soon but i didn't want to ruin the moment.
"are you staring, sunshine?" i hear her voice, raspy. it was deeper then usual, which made me like it more. i scoot myself up to eye level, her brown eyes fluttered awake. "maybe, you don't mind." i whispered, pushing her hair behind her ear. she gave a cheeky smile, before kissing me ln the forehead. "ugh, we have to go do basketball things" she groaned, pulling me closer. my face was nuzzled into her neck, like a big bear hug. "or we get to play dress up tonightt" i kiss her neck softly. i quickly pulling back, because we really hadn't established if that was okay. i felt the blood rush to my cheeks in embarrassment. "you're so cute." she giggled, sitting up as she checked her phone.
i roll over and check mine, which had 3 missed calls from paige. i felt awful but at the same time, it's what she did to me. paige never made anything exclusive, and neither did i. i sigh, knowing playing both sides, would eventually come to an end. i feel caitlin's breath on my neck, and that completely erases my thoughts. she makes it so easy, not to care. "i'm starved, and parched. i feel like i'm fasting." she rubs her stomach, and makes a face at me which was so adorable. she had such a light to her. "well, we are in your town cait, guide us to the food." i smile, hopping off the bed. i throw on some shoes and one of caitlin's iowa shirts, which felt illegal. she snapped a picture of me in it, "look at you, little traitor" she laughed before grabbing my hand and walking out the door.
caitlin's pov.
i held y/n's hand in mine as we went to the dining hall. it was so funny how the girl who lives a plane ride away makes me feel most at home. "let's skip" she says, starting to speed up. i cannot help but laugh. "what? why?" i match her pace before i know it, i'm skipping across campus. "because it's fun!" she yells, laughing and looking around at the buildings. i watch her laugh, and focus in on the things i see everyday. she had a glimmer in her eyes i couldn't get away from. i was stuck in a trance before i heard kate's voice "someone's a morning person." she was standing at the residence hall door with her girlfriend. "oh yes, we all know it's me." i sarcastically yawn. y/n looks at emma then me which i give her the look, of yes that's her girlfriend. "hi, i'm y/n auriemma, so nice to meet you!" she exclaims, holding her free hand out to emma. "oh honey, we know who you are. caitlin never shuts up about you! i'm emma tucker." emma shakes her hand. i look down at my shoes as i see a smile plaster y/n's face.
we walk inside the dining hall, and i sit y/n and emma at a table, and they continue to chat. kate and i walk over towards the foods, as we fill our plates for us, and the girls. "look at you, such a girlfriend at the moment." kate playfully pushes me as i get y/n an apple juice, which was her favorite. "i'm aiming for wife, but sure." i push her back. it's so funny how i'm with my best friend, on what seems like a double date.
"ugh, my savior!" y/n throws up her hands in the air as i bring her a waffle and a yogurt. "yes, i know, im the very best." i wink, and scoot in the booth next to her. she pours syrup all over her waffle, which looks absolutely like something she'd do. "would you like some waffle with your syrup, y/n?" emma asks, giggling at y/n's food combos. "hmm, no." she takes a huge bite of her concoction with the biggest smile on her face. i can't help but admire her.
"so what's the move today, caitlin?" kate asks, as she finishes up her food. "well the event's at 7 and it's 12:30 now. so we have some time to kill until we have to get ready." i check my phone, and see a text from hannah and jada who asked what we were wearing. "do you guys wanna get ready at my apartment?" emma asks, she was older then us so she had an apartment off campus. "please. caitlin's bathroom is too tiny for the two of us." y/n pleaded to emma who laughed. she had that effect on people, always a smile or laughter. "okay, we'll meet you there at 5ish?" i say, grabbing y/n and i's plates. i wait for y/n to leave the booth and we walk out of the dining hall together. "bye guys!" y/n yelled back and waved at my friends which made me so happy, she had a way of making herself at home wherever she was.
i wrap my arm around her shoulder, as we walk back towards my dorm. "that was fun, i like emma." y/n looks up at me, her y/c/e's piercing mine. "she's sweet, good for kate." i barely get that sentence out with the look she's giving me.
she gives me a smug look, as if she knew exactly what she was doing to me. i roll my eyes at her before giving her a kiss on the forehead. "if you roll them like that, they are gonna get stuck back there." she giggled at her own joke, which was funnier then said joke. i had never been so enchanted by someone, no one had the effect on me that y/n did.
