Kamigami no Asobi: The Mythical Student

~Ch 3~ I would kill you if you weren't immortal

Rachel's POV:

I jumped on a balcony of the third floor, from the tree that I was in, the girl and the god did not notice me since the girl and the god seemed to have some kind of moment, plus my agile form as a god makes me swift. After I landed on the balcony I looked back at the scene. It seems the god was going to kiss her, then the next thing I know he apologized, saying something about how it was custom. I sighed, he's as bad as Zeus who cheated on Hera like 23 times in the past. And that air-headed mortal is to taken back by something. Sigh. I walked into the academy to notice a few other gods, fortunately they did not notice me as I hid behind a column in the back, when I realized something. Sigh. Damn Zeus. I can't seem to make myself leave, he must want us to stay in this room. One by one, the other immortal gods entered, and soon the human girl and perverted air-head god.

"It seems that you are all gathered here." Said an annoying familiar commanding voice. "Zeus." I muttered under my breath as Zeus made his grand entrance, pretending to be all cool with his grand staff and clothes. He slowly walked down the grand stairs, then stopped, all attention now on him. "Welcome to my garden, to my academy..My beloved students." 'Beloved?' I thought, what is he up to now? Some of the male gods seem to figure out that he was the master mind of all this. 

"Cut the crap!" A blue haired god yelled, furious, definitely the type that probably never even heard of the words 'patience.' "You're behind all this?" Zeus didn't really react much with his outburst, he then said calmly, "Japanese god of the sea, Susanoo." Then his eyes were on the bright purple haired god next to him holding a rabbit, "Japanese god of the moon, Tsukuyomi." He started to say our names one by one.

"Norse god of light, Balder." I looked at the previous clumsy long haired light god. 

"god of fire, Loki." I then looked at the red braided hair god who seemed bored, but his eyes were down right serious. Fire, huh? A trouble maker then.

"god of thunder, Thor." Turquoise-haired guy? I can't read his expressions.

"greek god of the underworld, Hades." Zeus's brother. I never met the other god's besides Zeus and Hera, and couple of others, but my identity is not known among the greek mythology.

"god of fertility, Dionysos."  Zeus's son. god of wine. Sigh. 

"god of the sun, Apollon." Another one of Zeus's probably perverted sons. Oh yeah, wasn't he from your secret affair with Leto? That poor woman, I heard Hera made her labor hard. I noticed his eyes narrowed. I raised one of my eyebrows.

"And finally, goddess of the lost kingdom, Atlantis, Rachel Amethyst." I would kill him if he wasn't immortal, how dare he announce my kingdom in public. I did not make a movement to show myself from behind the column. Then Apollo looked at the human girl. "Wait, your a goddess of atlantis?!" Apollo asked in shock, the other immortal's attention went on the girl, the girl looked shock, and raised her hands in defense, "W-What?! N-No, I'm not!" Zeus sighed, and hit his staff on the ground making a thump capturing everyone's attention. "Rachel Amethyst, please show yourself." I sighed mentally.

I went out from behind the column and clicked my tongue which captured their attention as they try to see where the noise came from. Then they noticed me and for some reason, their eyes widened while some of them blushed ever so slightly, while the mortal looked at me in amazement. Wonder whats that all about. I turned and Zeus and nodded my head, as if giving him permission to carry on. Sigh. He's so unpredictable so I gave up understanding him years ago.

"You will all learn about humans, in order to revive the ancient link between the gods and humanity." The one named Loki smiled, "Do you really think we'll just do as you say?" The impatient guy named Susanoo looked at Zeus angrily, "Return my brother and me to our world. Or else..." then blue bolts surrounded him moving like waves, I narrowed my eyes. "There will be hell to pay." Loki said as fire appeared on his finger tips, he laughed as he jumped down at Zeus so did Susanoo. Zeus tapped his staff on the ground, and two flash light walls appeared hitting the attacking gods making them fall back. They looked at Zeus with serious eyes while Rachel looked emotionless, 'How foolish' she thought. 

Zeus still had that annoying smile which would make even the goddess of calmness boil. "If you use your divine powers indiscriminately, this academy will be destroyed. Therefore." He raised his staff as a small ball of light formed. It shined and then send small wavy strings of lights to the gods. 

A jewel of some sort appeared on every god. Rachel who was at the farthest of the room, immediately jumped as the light followed her, she landed on the first floor attempting to run when the light hit her. a beautiful simple sapphire necklace appeared on her neck. She looked up at Zeus, face emotionless, but eyes filled with anger. She knew him long enough to know what these were for. Annoyingly, the other gods weren't as smart as she was. (Not that she would blame them)

"What is this? I can't get it off!" yelled Loki, trying to take it off. The human girl spoke for the first time in a while, "Apollon-san...." Apollon tried to take his ring off. "He's right. It won't come off." Rachel spoke for the first time in a while, despite being the goddess of calmness, it annoyed her just as much. "Don't bother. It won't come off, there seals aren't they?" The melodic voice echoed throughout the room, and the male gods payed full attention to her, but she did not notice. She glared at Zeus with a glare sended shivers down the male's spine. 

Zeus chuckled, "You are a smart one, my dear. These shackles seal your divine powers. No one can defy me here. Those shackles are the proof!" It seemed like Loki had enough of joking around. "That's enough!" He tried to summon his flames only for them to disappear before they could even form. Loki looked shocked, "What is happening?" Zeus still had that annoying smile, Rachel was losing her patience slowly, but the more she see's Zeus smiling like the king of the world makes her blood boil. "You will study here. When you earn the right to graduate, you shackles will remove themselves." Rachel noticed at the corner of her eye that the girl was looking at the strange sword necklace around her neck. Then she noticed that Zeus had summoned a strange crystal ball, she felt a strange presence come from it, she felt the feeling of doubt and confusion for the first time in a while. 

"Once you understand the human heart, this container will be filled. You have one year. In other words, if you cannot fill it within a year,

 you will all be trapped in this garden... Forever." Everyone gasped, "This isn't funny!" Loki yelled looking furious. Rachel clenched her fist, looking up, face still showing no emotion. "Are you serious?" Balder asked, sounding amazed. Rachel looked at Hades sensing that it seemed he lost his cool, "Zeus, that's tyrannical!" "I shall not entertain protests. It has already been decided. Thoth." 

Thoth stepped out of the shadows, he was not new to Rachel, she had met him before. The Egyptian god of knowledge. He introduced himself as exactly as Rachel said in her mind. "Your classmates will be." He tapped his staff on the ground again, lights then showed up from the ground. Then human figures appeared, "these many spirits." I raised one eyebrow, 'spirits? How fortunate they must be to have this chance...however they'll be an annoying presence to deal with.' The human girl was the only one who seemed amazed that spirits human figures just appeared out of nowhere. "So many in an instant..." The girl said in amazement, "Amazing." 

"Kusanagi Yui." The girl stood up straight like an idiot. "Yes!" "Your responsibility is to lead the gods and one goddess to graduation. Is that clear?" The human girl named Kusanagi Yui did not reply. "Tomorrow, you will gather in the auditorium to prepare for the afternoon's entrance ceremony. That is all. You are dismissed for today. Kusanagi, come with me." The air-headed girl replied, "H-Hai!" Then she left with Thoth. 

"Rachel Amethyst." I looked at Zeus, he chuckled, "Are you surprised by all of this?" I narrowed my eyes, then spoke. "No. Surprisingly, I'm not. After all it is you. Anything unpredictable can happen when your around." He chuckled again, I walked away. "So what are you going to do?" I turned around my hair flipping around, I looked at him with eyes with emotion I will not explain.

"Even if my divine powers has disappeared, that does not make a difference to the fact that I am the Goddess of Atlantis, I'll decide how my part will be in your little game with my duty and pride!" After saying that I walked away.

Zeus's POV:

'A strong-willed girl, carrying the burden of being the only goddess of Atlantis then losing her kingdom, and still hold her head up high.' I chuckled mentally, 'I wonder how it will all turn out?'
