I watch as Damien descends up the stairs like I've put him in some sort of trance.
I can't tell if the stupid look on his face is one of guilt or one of pure awe.
I hate this look I've never seen before and I just want to punch him. I hate how sexy he looks right now. Wearing a tight-fitting Affliction tee and baggy, black cargo pants.
He walks up to us, his eyes flicking between his sister and I. He rustles his hand through his messy locks and lets out a small, nervous laugh.
"Hey." His eyes mostly on me.
"We need to talk." Ria practically growls at him. "Did you get my note?"
"I did. But not now." Damien's voice is low, as if he doesn't want me to hear.
"This is fucking important. You're not going to blow this off." She wags her finger in his face but, he slowly pushes it away from him.
"I promise you we will chat later." Damien says in a calm voice. He turns his attention towards me. "It's late, I should get you home. This is not a good place for you."
He snakes his arm around my waist but I unravel myself from his grasp. "Whatever it is you two need to talk about, I can wait. You should probably go. Wouldn't want to get you in trouble."
He scoffs and looks at me in disbelief. "I don't think your father would be pleased."
"You wouldn't really know though, would you?" I tilt my head and bat my lashes, sarcasm tainting my tone.
He looks at Ria and she smiles.
"Remind me to make sure none of my friends meet you again." He says to her and the siblings walk off together. I watch as they make their way downstairs, through the crowd, and exit the front doors.
I lean against the cold banister and that's when I feel a vibrate in my pocket.
I pull out my phone and my heart drops into my ass.
➤dad: Arden, where are you?
➤dad: ANSWER ASAP.
➤dad: You need to be home by 2300.
Fuck. I let out a long sigh and run my fingers through my cold, wet hair.
I could just go home now. I kind of want to after what Ria was saying.
I look down at my shabby, soaking clothes. I look terrible.
I peer over my shoulder and spot a bathroom. I could clean up just a little.
