The night sky sparkled with stars, a serene backdrop for the rooftop restaurant Jimin had reserved just for the two of them. Warm fairy lights strung across the terrace bathed the space in a golden glow.
Sara looked radiant in her soft lavender dress, her hair cascading in loose waves. Jimin couldn't take his eyes off her as they shared stories over dinner.
"You always know how to make a girl feel special," Sara said with a teasing smile, taking a sip of her champagne.
Jimin chuckled, leaning back in his chair " Because you're my girl " Hearing his words she blushed hard.
The moment was perfect-too perfect. Sara's gaze sharpened slightly, her playful demeanor giving way to curiosity. She set her glass down and leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table.
"So," she began, her tone casual yet probing, "how was your trip last week?"
Jimin's relaxed expression didn't waver. "It was good. Peaceful."
"Really?" Sara arched a brow. "Because Y/N mentioned something else , about mission."
For a brief second, Jimin's smile faltered, but he quickly recovered. He leaned closer, his fingers grazing hers on the table. "Y/N has a vivid imagination. She tends to blow things out of proportion."
Sara studied his face, searching for cracks in his cool exterior. "She seemed pretty convinced."
Jimin's jaw tightened imperceptibly, but he kept his tone light. "I promise, it wasn't anything like that. "
Sara tilted her head, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Are you lying to me, Jimin?"
The question hung in the air, heavy and pointed. Jimin let out a low sigh, his charming facade slipping for just a moment. He reached for her hand, his touch firm yet gentle.
"Sara," he said softly, his voice carrying a hint of vulnerability. "There are things in my world that I don't want touching you. This... trip... was nothing you need to worry about. Trust me, okay?"
Her heart twisted at his words. She wanted to believe him, to trust him like she always had. But a part of her couldn't shake the feeling that he was hiding something.
Sara nodded slowly, offering a small smile. "Okay. For now."
Jimin smiled back, lifting her hand to his lips and pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles. "Thank you. Let's not waste tonight on heavy questions, hmm?"
She let him change the subject, but deep down, Sara knew she wasn't done digging.
As they finished dinner, Jimin stood, offering his hand to Sara. She took it, her fingers sliding into his as he led her to the edge of the rooftop.
The view of the city sprawled below them, lights twinkling like a sea of stars. The cool night breeze played with her hair, and she shivered slightly.
Jimin noticed immediately, slipping off his blazer and draping it over her shoulders. "Better?" he asked, his voice low and warm.
She nodded, pulling the blazer tighter around her. "Perfect. You always think of everything, don't you?"
He smirked, stepping closer. "Only when it comes to you."
Sara laughed softly, tilting her head to meet his gaze. The way he looked at her-like she was the only person in the world-made her heart race.
"Do you ever get tired of being so smooth?" she teased.
