Kevedd Fanfiction: Going through Changes

Chapter 5: The date

Kevin was distracted through practice, and everyone could tell. He was getting strikes and missing the target during pitching. If you wanted his attention you had to make sure you screamed his name loud and  throwing your mitt would help too. 

"Come on man" the whole team seemed to say all day, "it's like you got some damn love bug up your ass" 

Kevin blew it off like it was nothing but he couldn't hide it from himself that he was excited. He knew it was just a study date but he had other plans in mind. 

Kevin ran into the locker room the moment coach said hit the showers, he wasted no time. He knew how mush Edd hated germs. Kevin couldn't help think of Edd while he was showering and was shocked to see, well he was a little more excited than he thought, he quickly began thinking of an old lady and luckily it stopped before the others began to enter the shower.  Kevin quickly dressed himself and began walking to the library. He was already smirking when he turned the corner to see Edd fixing his hat in the reflection on the window. 

"Hey" 

"Oh!" Edd nearly shouted, "you've frightened me."

"Sorry about that", kevin couldn't help but giggle.

"It's quite alright" Edd said giggling himself.

The two began walking outside through the nearly empty parking lot to the motorcycle in the corner. Kevin reached in the back and pulled out a helmet and handled it to Double D, who just stared at it in shock.

"Maybe I should just take the walk home" Double D said through gritted teeth.

"No, come in you'll be fine I swear just hold on to me" Kevin said as he placed the helmet on Double D's head. Kevin has done this a million times to girls who he took home, but he couldn't help but notice the butterflies that shifted in his stomach.

Kevin quickly reached his leg over the bike and urged Edd to do the same. With hesitation Edd cautiously did the same, scared to place his arms on the boy. 

Kevin sensed an uneasiness as he started the bike.

"Hold on tight" he said to Edd

Edd lightly placed his hands on the hips of Kevin. Kevin quickly took the opportunity and grabbed the hands and wrapped them around his waist. There was a moment of pure silence afterwards. Instead of saying anything to fill the moment Kevin just began to ride in the direction of his home.

Edd was silent the entire way. He couldn't help but notice the firmed abdomen of Kevin. Or the sharp jawline that he acquired. Edd was so wrapped up in thought he didn't realize that kevin pulled into a driveway. Edd quickly removed his arms embarrassed. He awkwardly stumbled of the bike. He looked around to realize he was at  Kevin's house. He looked at Kevin as he swiftly stepped off the bike. They locked eyes. 

"Here let me get the for you" Kevin said as he removed the helmet from the boys head.

"Uhhh, thank you" Edd said blushing from the embarrassment once more.

Kevin began to walk the path to his Front door and Edd followed five steps behind. Kevin opened his door and took a step back as to allow Edd to enter first. Edd hesitated at first but quickly reminded himself that it was only to study and walked in. 

"Why thank you" 

"No problem" Kevin said as he shut the door and removed his hoodie momentarily exposing his abs as his shirt clung to his hoodie. Edd found himself staring but quickly looked away.

"Just sit down and I'll get some soda" kevin said as he waved to the frontroom. 

Edd took a seat and removed his chemistry book and folder and laid them on the table. Kevin came back and set two glasses on the table as well.

"Alright professor Double Dweb, let's roll" kevin said as he sat down next to Edd.

"Yes, of course" Edd said noticing how close Kevin sat, "so the molecule balance" Edd began.

After Edd explained the information to kevin he allowed the to attempt to answer a question. As the moment drew by kevin finally handed the notebook back to Edd. Edd was lost in thought as he glanced over the problem.

"Why, Kevin this is rii-" Edd was interrupted mid-sentence by Kevin kissing him.

It was just one kiss but it held so much passion. Kevin's lips brushed Edd's softly. He pulled away to stare at the reaction. Edd simply dropped the notebook he held and grabbed Kevin's hand that lied on his thigh and kiss back. The two spent for what seemed like forever in a passionate embrace simply tasting each other. After a while the two broke apart and just stared at each other.

"I don't know what this is, or how to explain exactly how I feel. But I get butterflies when I think of you. And tongue tied every time i try to talk." Kevin stated nearly forgetting to breathe, "I never felt like this with any girl, I don't know of I am gay or bisexual or if I am just fucking crazy. In the end you are all I think about anymore."

Kevin finished talking not really knowing what else to say and stared at Edd waiting for a reply.

"So what are you saying?" Edd asked, "do you want 'us' to be a thing?"

Kevin stared blankly at Edd and quickly looked down. He knew that this could be a good thing but he never really asked himself what he wanted this to be in the first place. 

"I-i-i never really thought it that through." He said still staring at the floor. "Let's just hang out together more and see how it goes from there." Kevin said as he began to look up. Locking eyes with Edd he said, "let's see if this could work out before we really start."

Edd wanted this, and he didn't realize it until now. The words Kevin were speaking were like a new found heaven to him. Instead of giving Kevin an answer he just leaned in and kissed him; Kevin kissed back.
