Kevedd Fanfiction: Going through Changes

Chapter eight: Let's get better together

Edd  immediately started crying; no one has ever asked him that question. The reality of the world has smacked him in the face and he had no answer.

Kevin looked at Edd as he began to cry, Edd began gapping him mouth almost as if he was trying to talk but no words could, or would, come out. Kevin sat in silence patiently waiting for Edd to answer the question. As minutes flew by both of the boys tears dried up and Edd finally spoke.

"I have never been asked a question that i didn't know the answer to," Edd fixed his beanie as he continued to talk, "but you changed all that." 

Kevin had no response to give, and understood no response was meant to be received. The two locked eyes and tears began to swell.

"I never really thought about it to be honest," Edd began, "I was 13 when I skipped my first meal. I did it to make my mom mad. She told me I needed to eat more." Edd stopped to wipe the tear that slid down his cheek away. "It was one of the rare times that she was home with my father. I was just so mad that she thought she could tell me how to live, what to do." Edd looked at kevin who was paying every ounce of attention he had to Edd. "I just vowed to do the opposite of what she told me to do. She would say let loose Eddward, go spend a weekend with your friends; so I would study harder. I have the friends I do because she told me not to!" Edd was standing now. His hat thrown on the floor and his hands in his hair. "How could that woman even try to control me! Look what she has done to me!" Edd was now standing in front of the mirror; his hands gripping the sides so tight his knuckles were white. Edd slowly dropped to his knees. 

Kevin was shocked. He quickly rushed over to Edd, who swatted him away at first.

"You don't need to ever try to be someone just because of her." Kevin grabbed Edd's face in his hands. "You can do, or be, anything you want to be. Regardless of what she says. "We are going to get better, together. You can eat lunch with me at school, we can eat breakfast together. Babe, I'm willing to do anything to make sure you are safe." Kevin kissed Edd. It was a soft, meaningful kiss.

Edd rested his head on Kevin's shoulder.

"What are we supposed to do now?" Edd asked

"Whatever it is, we are going to do it together." Kevin looked at Edd, "I want you, I want us. I don't care what the others think. Double D....will you be my boyfriend?" 

Double D lifted his head to lock eyes with Kevin. "For real?" Edd asked dumbfounded. Kevin nodded his head, "like no hiding, everyone will know?" 

"You can scream it from a rooftop, I want everyone to know you're mine." Kevin said smiling.

"Yes....yes! I would like nothing better than to be your boyfriend Kevin."

The two embraced each other and basked in moment oblivious to the world around them; for once in their lives they didn't feel so alone.
