[Six ★ Dares and Kisses]
The soft light of dawn filtered through my curtains, pulling me from a dreamless sleep. Groaning, I stretched and reached for my phone. 7:00 a.m. on a Saturday? I should be in bed for at least another hour. But with Myra di's wedding prep in full swing, there was no chance of that happening. Advi Aunty would hunt me down if I dared to slack off.
After a quick shower and some coffee that, thankfully, didn't taste like salted caramel without caramel (a rare win), I pulled on a pair of jeans and a tank top before heading next door. Veer's house was buzzing with activity—a mix of laughter, hurried footsteps, and the aroma of hot tea wafting through the air. I barely had time to step inside before Aunty's voice carried over the noise.
"Seerat beta, you're here! Perfect, I need you for something," she said, balancing authority and relief in her tone. She looked effortlessly elegant in a pale blue saree, her hair neatly tied back.
"Of course, Aunty. What's the plan?" I asked, already bracing myself for a task.
"Mera nalayak beta nahi utha" she said, her voice edged with exasperation. "Samarth just arrived, so you two can go pick up Veer's cousins from the station. Their train's coming in an hour, and I'm up to my ears with the halwai arrangements."
(My dumb son still hasn't woken up)Cousins?
Oh my god is he also coming?
I blushed at the thought of meeting him again after 3 years.
"Got it," I replied, glancing over as Sam appeared in the hallway. His usual easy grin was firmly in place, and he looked way too put together for this early in the morning. How did he do it?
"Yoo, Seerat," he greeted casually. "Ready for a little adventure?"
"Define adventure," I shot back, grabbing the car keys Aunty handed me.
"Picking up Veer's cousins. Should be fun, especially since ahem ahem is coming" he said with a wink that was both irritating and kind of amusing.
"OMG he's actully coming? aaaaa" I screamed and jumped on Sam. Luckily he is strong.
"whoa easy there tiger thodi excitment bacha ley uske liye bhi," he said hugging me.
Sam is the best brother ever.
"Oh My god I have to change. Aise thodi chali jaungi" I said realizing what I had worn.
"No you look pretty, thik lag rahi hai and we don't have time," Sam said.
(you look okay)"Okay, I need gorgeous" I replied.
"Ugh, you look gorgeous". He rolled his eyes.
"Girls" he muttered under his breath.
