At the beginning

the smell of New York rain

the swears had been flowing rather heavy the past few days because of the pelting rain. the swears were slowly getting cleaned out by the strong flow of water. the turtles agree on inviting april, kc and lex over for a 'water day'. water day started back way when the turtles were young, they would play games and muck around in the water, so every time it rain the turtles would take part in the fun filled day. 

april's phone buzzed in the back pocket of her denim, blue shorts, she was on break so she quickly pulled it out to find the reason to it's buzzing. her eyes excitedly read the short and brief message informing her about the water day. but when her eyes finally saw lex's name at the bottom of the message, part of her excitement drained out of her body. april contemplated on if she should send the message to kc and have a potential rick of kc blabbing to lex. before she had settled on what to do she felt warm breath on the back of her neck. she shivered at the thought of how close some one was to her but her fears were calmed when she recognized the familiar voice of kc. "oh sick a water day, i don't even know what that is but it sounds sick, I'll go tell lex", he announced, with what april felt like was way to much enthusiasm.

the end of the school day finally came around and the 3 friends made their way down the swears. kc and lex were having a great time but april got more jealous by the second. by the time the friends made to the lair their shoes were socked. as lex sat down on the couch planning to take her shoes off she took notice of how soft it was. she closed her eyes and sunk deep into the friendly couch. with her eyes still closed she could hear the excitement cursing through every ones voice. she finally opened her eyes and slide forward and took off her shoes, she heard some one walk up to her, all she could see was big green feet. she looked up and instantly recognized that it was raph, his smile was warm and welcoming even though his eyes were wild and intimidating. he slowly put out his hand, when lex side her small hand in to raph's he gripped it tight and pulled lex to her feet. lex didn't need any help getting up but she didn't let he know that. they both walked over to the group of friends without talking, "are you guys ready for a wildly fun and fantastic water day"? leo asked and with clear eagerness in his voice. everyone cheered but lex just laughed loud and hard, thoroughly enjoying her self even before the fun began. 

by the end of water day everyone was thoroughly soaked and exhausted, there had a lot of games and laughing. it was almost midnight with master splinter came out to everyone to tell them it was time for bed. "ok well I'm off see you guy tomorrow", april said as she waved good bye to everyone. "hey I'll come with, let me walk you home", kc said quickly jogging to catch up to april. lex was sitting a puddle quietly giggling to her self, raph couldn't help but smile when he saw her just sitting there. he walked over to lex and held out his hand ready to help her up, lex looked raph up and down, his body was wet with water and sweat. droplets were still slowly rolling down his muscular body, she lifted one of her arms and a shiver sprinted through her arm first then the rest of her body. when raph grabbed lex's hand he felt cold shoot up his arm, he pulled her up just a little to fast causing her body to crash into his. one of her hands founds itself on one of his collar-bones, but her hands were cold and raph's body was over come with gooses bumps. lex stepped back and looked around to everyone else that were busy with other things. she wrapped her arms around herself trying to keep warm, she noticed that april and kc were heading home and with frost radiating off her, she said "well I better get home, I have school tomorrow". "I can walk you home if you want", raph asked hoping to get her all to himself. "no it's ok you don't have to do that, I'll be fine", lex said sending a rush of sadness into raph's body. lex grabbed her small black school bag, the gold buckles clinked when she lifted it. she headed to the ladder that she came down, even though she said it was all right raph followed her to the ladder. he followed her from a far, following her wet shoe prints left from where her wet shoe had stepped just moments before. raph heard a strange snakelike noise from up a head, he ran up to were the noise came from, what he was nearly made him jump. (nearly). he was kari, the snake version, biting lex on the neck, but before raph could even grab out his sai's kari had already seen him. she wrapped her long scaly body around lex and climbed up the ladder and onto the streets. when raph got up to the streets kari was nowhere to be seen. in frustration raph throw his sai's to the ground, they made the same clinking sound lex's bag did, making raph feel even worse. he ran back to the others as fast as he could, breathing heavy and loud, stumbling and tripping as he tried to stop, yelling, mumbling and trying to breath. "kari", (swallow), "lex", (ahhhhh), "bite, gone", raph tried to explain between quick, short and heavy breaths. his brothers just stood there with blank faces frustrating raph ever farther. "kari bit lex and then disappeared", raph finally spat out. his brothers just continued to stand then but now with stunned and shocked faces.  "we have to rescue her",raph suddenly shouted.
