The Sherawat mansion stood like a fortress in the heart of the city, its grandeur undeniable. The expansive grounds were meticulously landscaped, with sprawling lawns, a water fountain glimmering under soft garden lights, and tall iron gates guarded by a team of uniformed security personnel. Cameras and sensors discreetly dotted the perimeter, ensuring the safety of its residents.
It was 11 pm when Adhyant’s car, a sleek black Rolls-Royce, rolled up to the entrance. A valet swiftly opened the door, while the security team saluted him respectfully. He gave a curt nod, his mood heavy, and walked toward the mansion’s grand entrance. The towering double doors, crafted from dark mahogany and adorned with intricate carvings, opened automatically as the sensors detected his presence.
Inside, the ambiance was one of understated opulence. Warm golden lights illuminated the marble floors, while chandeliers hung gracefully from the high ceilings. Adhyant bypassed the main staircase, heading straight to a private elevator that required a fingerprint scan. The lift hummed softly as it ascended to the fifth floor—their private chamber.
As the doors slid open, he stepped into an exclusive haven. The floor was designed as a personal retreat, complete with a state-of-the-art swimming pool that sparkled under the soft lighting. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls offered a breathtaking view of the cityscape. The drawing room was elegantly furnished with plush couches and modern art pieces. To one side, the game room housed a sleek pool table where they had shared a playful yet intimate night not long ago.
Adhyant walked past the game room and onto the sprawling balcony that stretched across the floor. The crisp night air carried the faint scent of jasmine from the gardens below. Beyond the balcony, he finally entered their bedroom.
The room was a blend of comfort and sophistication, with a king-sized bed adorned with neutral-toned silk sheets and soft, layered pillows. A seating area with a velvet loveseat and a small library nook completed the space.
Saachi was curled up on the bed, dressed in his black night suit, the oversized fabric draping gracefully on her petite frame. Her brown hair was tied loosely, and she wore a pair of reading glasses as she flipped through the pages of a book. She looked up as he entered, a soft smile gracing her lips.
“You’re late,” she said, setting the book aside and removing her glasses.
Adhyant didn’t respond. He walked to the other side of the bed, unfastening his cufflinks before sitting down to remove his shoes.
“Long day?” Saachi asked, tilting her head. Still, he said nothing.
Her brows furrowed. “Okay, what’s wrong? I have asked Adhyay bhai and Avdhaan but they also didn't answer. I even called you many times.” She folded her hands on her chest.
“I was busy in some meetings so I couldn't see your missed calls.” Saying this he stood and walked toward the closet, shrugging off his blazer. He disappeared inside without a word, leaving Saachi sitting on the bed, her annoyance growing.
She got up and followed him to the closet, leaning against the doorframe. “So, you should have sent me a text.” Seeing him not giving an answer she said with anger "Adhyant, this is not right. You can’t just come home and act like I don’t exist.”
