“Not again Saachi. I am ready to accept all your terms and conditions. You don’t need to bring these papers between us.” He groaned and she giggled looking at his frowned face.
“I think you should give them a look.” Saying this she opened the papers in front of him. He looked at them with a heavy sigh.
Saachi pulled out a neatly folded receipt and waved it in front of his face. “This.”
Adhyant squinted at the slip of paper.
“What’s this?” he asked, suspicion lacing his tone.
She grinned mischievously and dangled the receipt just out of his reach. “A little something.”
He snatched it from her hand and scanned it quickly. His eyes widened. “Fifty lakhs?! For a ring?”
“Patience, Mr. Sherawat,” Saachi giggled, fishing out a sleek, velvet box from her bag.
She flicked it open, revealing a stunning platinum band embedded with black diamonds, elegant, powerful, and undeniably him.
“Happy birthday, my darling,” she said softly, sliding the ring onto his finger.
Before he could utter a word, she leaned down and pressed a soft, tender kiss on his lips.
But Adhyant? Oh no, he wasn’t stopping at tender.
His hand curved around her neck, deepening the kiss until it grew heated and intense. Her fingers tangled in his hair as she responded, their soft chuckles turning into breathless sighs.
The world around them vanished, leaving only the two of them, lost in that electric moment
Finally, he pulled back, slightly breathless, his forehead resting against hers. “This… is the best gift ever.”
But then his gaze flicked to the receipt still clutched in his other hand. His brows knit together. “Wait, why did you give me the receipt?”
Saachi blinked innocently. “Well, I need to know how you plan to pay for it.”
He looked at her like she’d grown a second head. “Pay for my own birthday gift?”
“Of course! I mean, fifty lakhs isn’t exactly pocket change,” she teased, barely suppressing a laugh. “So, tell me installments or cash?”
“You’re unbelievable,” he muttered, but a chuckle escaped him.
“And one more thing, I have gifted you this 50 lakh ring. So, on my birthday I am waiting at least 1 crore gift.” She said while he raised his eyebrows.
“Ohh then how are you gonna pay for it?” He asked playfully.
“Why will I pay for it? Afterall I am a wife of a mafia king and a great businessman, so why will I pay for anything?” She made a pout and he chuckled.
Their playful banter escalated into light-hearted wrestling on the couch, her trying to tickle him, him holding her wrists to stop her until.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
The sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the hall, followed by a deliberate cough. They froze. Adhyant, still half-lying on the couch with Saachi sprawled on top of him, slowly turned his head.
Standing at the entrance were Yug, Harsh, and Adhyay, all doing a terrible job of hiding their smirks. Yug was inspecting the ceiling like it was the Louvre. Harsh scratched the back of his head, eyes darting everywhere but at the couple. And Adhyay? He stood there, hands crossed, a smug look on his face.
“Don’t mind us,” Harsh coughed again, dramatically. “Carry on.”
Adhyant groaned, burying his face into Saachi’s neck. “I swear I’ll kill them.”
Saachi giggled, gently pushing him off. He sat up with an annoyed huff while she gracefully stood, adjusting her dress.
