The logic of his mind
Fought the yearning of his soul
It bade him leave his love behind,
Which left in him an empty hole.
This hole was desperate to be filled;
(in losing love one wants it more)
thus battled fierce his wants and will
but self-control won as before.
Yet still the space love left behind
persisted long to haunt his heart
So wisdom weakened in his mind
and his resolve rusted apart.
He began to flirt with fire
as his love addiction grew
from simple want to full desire.
Yes, love's a drug, maybe you knew.
But his love was for love's sake
and this folly left him burned
before he realized his mistake
before it was a lesson learned.
All this because he thought it wise
to go and leave his love behind.
But never once did he realize
That when in love, we all are blind.
