Scarlett Dove sat on the Common Room couch, a grin on her face.

Sirius walked in and raised an eyebrow at her. She turned around and waved, but turned around as her cat rubbed against her. She lightly pets it's head and then turned back to Sirius, beaming.

"What's got you so happy?"

"Got a new boyfriend,"

Sirius rolled his eyes and grinned.

"Seriously?"

"Very siriusly."
"Ah, shut up," He laughed, sitting down next to his best friend.

He looked at her and smiled.

"Who?"

"Charles Smith."

Sirius raised his eyebrows.

"Really? Didn't you just have one a few days ago?"

"I broke up with him a few days ago,"

"Why?"

"He only dated me because I'm popular."

"Isn't that why you-"

"Shut up, Sirius." She said with a grin.

"Hey, Scarlett.. I-I was w-wondering if you'd li-like to go to H-Hogsmeade with me?"

Scarlett looked at him, her smile now replaced with a frown.

"I'm sorry Sirius, I really am, but I'm going with Charles."

Sirius forced a smile.

"No, it's fine, I understand."

Scarlett smiled at him.

Sirius forced a grin and stood up, walking to breakfast, Scarlett trailing behind.

*~*~*

Scarlett looked around and smiled, sitting down next to Sirius.

"Hey, sorry that I couldn't go to Hogsmeade with you," she whispered in his ear when the Professor's back was turned.

Sirius shivered and replied, "No, It's okay, I said I understood."

Sirius smiled at her and she grinned back.

"Mister Black! Miss Dove!" McGonagall barked.

Sirius and Scarlett jumped, turning to their professor.

"Sorry, Professor," Scarlett said in sync with Sirius.

McGonagall looked at the two and turned around to face the blackboard to hide her smirk.

"It's alright, Miss Dove, Mr. Black, don't let me catch you doing it again."

"Wait- so we can still whisper, as long as you don't catch us?" Scarlett asked.

McGonagall sighed, and shook her head slowly, turning around.

"I have a class that acts like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons."

Scarlett smirked and turned to Sirius.

"Try to say that five times fast," she said in a low voice.

"Babbling, bumbling band of baboons. Babbling, bumbling band of baboons," She whispered in unison with Sirius.

Sirius stifled his laugh and, once again, failed to turn his goblet into a rat.

*~*~*

"Oi, Black!" Scarlett yelled over the chatter of the students in the Great Hall.

Everyone turned to Sirius, and mouthed, 'You're done.'

Sirius turned to Scarlett who had a smirk on her face.

"I'll take you up on that offer for Hogsmeade, yeah?"

"Thought you were going with Smith?"

"Nah, broke up with the guy an hour ago."

Sirius chuckled.

"Okay, then!"

As Scarlett sat down next to Lily, Sirius let out a sigh of relief.

He knew how bad her temper could get.

"Going to Hogsmeade with Scarlett, eh?" James smirked.

"Bugger off, Prongs. We're only going as friends,"

"For now," James grinned.

Sirius scoffed and went back to his food.

"Going to Hogsmeade with Black?" Lily asked Scarlett as she sat down.

"Yeah, why?"
"Are you going just as.. friends?"

"Of course, Lils. Why do you ask?"

"He looks a tad disappointed, that's all."

Scarlett looked past Lily and at Sirius. She was right. He did look a bit disappointed.

"I'm sure it's because of something else," She shrugged.

"If you say so!" Lily said in a sing-song voice.

Scarlett laughed and rolled her eyes playfully.

Lily grinned at her friend, but she wasn't kidding when she said that.

"So, Scarlett, are you going to tryouts?"

"Eh. I don't usually go. James always tells me the date and I never go.. So maybe I'll go this year. Try out as a beater, maybe."

Lily looked at Scarlett skeptically.

"A beater? Scarlett, I don't mean to sound rude, but beaters are usually played by boys."

"So? I can be a beater,"

"I'm not saying you can't, but what if you get hurt?"

"Lils, calm down. I'll be fine."

"I'm just warning you. The Beater is a dangerous position."

"Then I'll try out as beater or seeker."
"The seeker's even worse!"

Scarlett shrugged and picked at her food.

"I'll be fine, Lily."

Lily sighed but didn't push the subject, going back to her food. She glanced at Sirius. He still looked a bit disappointed.
