The Players (Sirius Black) *COMPLETED*

Chapter 14

"Hey, Sirius," Scarlett said with a small smile as she sat down next to him.

He scoot over a little bit and Scarlett's smile turned to a frown.

"Sirius? What's wrong?"

He didn't say anything- just moved over a little more.

He had been like this the past few days, but Scarlett had thought nothing of it and had just been trying to get him to talk to her. But now, she was over it.

"That's it, Sirius!" Scarlett said, voice raising.

She stood up and glared at Sirius. Everyone in the Great Hall was looking at them and an unsuspecting Sirius.

"I am tired of you and your stupid games! All I've been trying to do for the past week or two is just trying to get you to talk to me! I'm failing nearly all my classes already because of you! I am so sick of it! If you don't want to talk to me, fine. But don't expect me to talk to you either,"

She then stormed off angrily, leaving Sirius staring after in regret for the bet he had made with James.

Then he stood up, too.

"Why did you make that bet with me, James?" Sirius grumbled to James, glaring.

James gave him a strange look.

"I don't know, but don't go glaring at me! I wasn't the one who agreed to it!"

Sirius groaned and pulled at his hair.

"I know! And I'm an idiot! I possibly just lost the perfect girl for me; over a stupid bet!"

"You're both idiots," Remus said suddenly. "You're both just toying with Scarlett instead of actually trying to explain what happened. This is both of your faults. James shouldn't have made that bet and Sirius shouldn't have agreed to it, but there's nothing we can do about that. All I'm recommending is that you both go talk to Scarlett and explain everything to her before we all lose her," He snapped.

Sirius and James stared at him, shocked

"You're right, Moony," Sirius sighed.

"Yeah," James said, "We'll go talk to Scarlett."

"Thank you," Remus said, sounding tired.

James and Sirius left the Great Hall and made their way to here they assumed Scarlett would be; the Common Room.

They found her sitting on the Common Room couch with her face buried in her knees, whimpering slightly.

"Scarlett?" Sirius said, his voice unusually soft.

He sat next to her and pulled her into his chest. She didn't stop him.

"I'm sorry, Scarlett. It's just, James and I made this bet one night... He said he bet that by the end of 7th year, my player ways would be gone... And that just made me kind of mad so I took on the challenge, but I really regret it now."

"Yeah, Scarlett," James said. "I'll give him the option to back out if he wants,"

"Sirius," Scarlett said suddenly, "You are someone worth waiting for. If you want to go through with the bet I'll wait for you until the end of seventh year,"

"What about what's-his-name?"

"Who?"

"That blurry kid-"

"Oh, that's something that James made up I think. He's gone now, vanished with the spell."

Sirius nodded.

"So... you're willing to wait for me?"

"Always."

"Always? Even until the end of Hogwarts?"

Scarlett smiled.

"It'll be painful, but I know it'll be alright. And right after that graduation feast; when we throw those hats in the air; I'll be waiting for you. Forever."

Sirius smiled at her and grabbed her hand.

"Why do you need to do this, if I can ask?"

"What do you mean?"

"Why are you continuing with the bet?"

His smile turned into a smirk.

"Because we're the Players. And we play for as long as we can,"

I don't know if this book will have a sequel; maybe an epilogue.

Okay, so, since this book is finished now (it was supposed to be a relatively short book) I wanted to ask Piekachu1999 if, since I liked your character so much, I could make a book FOR that character.

It would be preferably a HP fan-fiction, maybe a love story on who you choose.

You'd get to choose the title and all.
