As the years passed, the bond between Sanemi and (Y/n) deepened, their relationship becoming a steady anchor amidst the chaos of their lives. Though their duties as members of the Demon Slayer Corps kept them often apart, they cherished the moments when they could be together, finding solace in the simplicity of their shared time.
The demons they fought were relentless, each mission taking a toll on them physically and emotionally. But no matter how hard the battle, Sanemi always knew he could return to (Y/n), who had become not just his wife but his unwavering support, the one person who understood the complexity of his emotions. She knew the strength it took to protect others and the scars that came with it—both visible and hidden.

One particularly brutal campaign against a powerful demon had left Sanemi more shaken than usual. The fight had been long, the demon relentless, and Sanemi had been pushed beyond his limits. When the battle was over and the demon was vanquished, he found himself alone, lying against the cold earth, the weight of the war settling heavily on him.
He stumbled back to the base, his mind clouded by the exhaustion and the weight of his past. (Y/n) was already there, having heard word of the battle. Her eyes, full of concern and worry, found him the moment he entered the room. "You're hurt," she said softly, her hands instinctively moving to tend to the fresh wounds on his body. But it was the look in her eyes—the way they softened with love and worry—that stopped him.

"I'll be fine," Sanemi muttered, his voice hoarse. But (Y/n) didn't believe him. She had seen him at his worst, and even then, she never faltered. She gently cupped his face in her hands, the tender touch something he never thought he would come to crave. "No, Sanemi," she whispered. "You're not just fine. You're allowed to feel everything. And you don't have to carry it all on your own."
Her words pierced through the wall of stubborn pride he had built, the one that had kept him distant from others for so long. In her gaze, he found acceptance, not just of his strength but of his vulnerability as well. "I'm sorry," he finally said, his voice cracking slightly. "I've always tried to keep my distance... I didn't want to burden you with all of this."

But (Y/n) simply shook her head, her hand moving to rest over his heart. "You're not a burden to me, Sanemi. You're my husband, and I'm here. Always." Sanemi closed his eyes, his heart heavy with a mixture of gratitude and sadness. His life had always been one of hardship, and love had once seemed like something that only weakened a person.
But (Y/n) had shown him that love, in its truest form, was not about being perfect or unshakable—it was about being there for each other, even when things seemed impossible. In that moment, Sanemi realized that while he may have been a warrior in the eyes of the world, (Y/n) had helped him discover a different kind of strength.

A strength rooted not in his sword, but in his heart. And it was in that heart, with (Y/n) by his side, that he had found his true purpose. As the years went on, they continued to fight side by side. They faced demons, loss, and the harsh realities of their world together, but they also built a life outside of battle.
They found joy in the little things—quiet mornings spent together, nights of storytelling by the fire, and the peace that came from simply holding one another after a long day. Though their lives were far from ordinary, they had carved out a space where love and strength coexisted, where they didn't have to face the darkness alone.

And in those quiet moments, when the world outside seemed like it would never be still, Sanemi would often find himself gazing at (Y/n), the woman who had taught him the meaning of love. It was in her presence that he found the courage to keep fighting, not just for survival, but for the future they were building together.
One evening, as they sat together on the porch of their home, watching the stars twinkle in the vast sky, Sanemi turned to her, his expression softer than ever before. He had never been one for grand declarations, but in the silence of the night, he felt the need to speak. "I don't know what I did to deserve you," he said quietly, his voice sincere.

(Y/n) smiled, her fingers lightly tracing the lines of his hand. "You don't have to deserve love, Sanemi. You just have to be open to it. And you are." Sanemi reached over, gently cupping her cheek in his hand, his thumb brushing over the curve of her jaw. "You've changed me. I didn't know how to love before you, but now... I can't imagine a life without you."
(Y/n)'s heart fluttered, and she leaned into his touch. "And I wouldn't want to imagine a life without you, either." In that moment, as the stars shone above them and the world outside faded into the distance, Sanemi Shinazugawa realized that love, in all its quiet strength, had always been the one thing that kept him going.

It was the thing that gave him hope when there seemed to be none left, the thing that healed his heart and gave him a reason to live beyond the war. And as long as (Y/n) was by his side, he knew he would never face the darkness alone again. Together, they had found something worth fighting for. And together, they would face whatever came their way—hand in hand, heart to heart.
