"We are the descendants of the Maker! Through our power we can shake the very foundations of Heaven and Earth!" the general declared. "These Temparum are nothing but an inferior species, an inferior race compared to us Magisters, for it is was through our lineage of righteous and superior Babelens that we were brought forth to rule, and righteously so."
"That does not justify genocide!" the high counselor spoke out. "We should seek to create peace with the Temparum and settle out our difference through words. There is no need for the spilling of Babelen blood."
"Can we even call them Babelen?" a scholar said. "If they are not Magisters like us, the true Babelens, then they are nothing but defects that we should simply purge out of Shalan."
They have been at each others throats for days now about what the Magister people are to do with the Temparum. For as long as recorded history has been written, the Magisters and Temparum have been at war with each other since the Fall, which has divided the Babelen people into their counterparts.
Magisters who carry the golden glow in which the first Babelens were bestowed by the Creator in the beginning and the Temparum who carry the silver glow caused by first slaying of kin after the fall. The Babelen people are immortal is a sense that we do not get old due to the glowing markings etched into our skin at birth.
The high priest say that in the beginning the Creator Eden came down from the heaven to greet our ancestors, the Talvenoth, and through her love we were bestowed her light, forming the marks. Whether I believe that or not is a matter of debate, I mean we haven't had contact from the Creator or the Talvenoth in over a millennia so my skepticism is only logical.
"Your nothing but a Temparum whore!" the general called the scholar.
"General you would know something about Temparum whores. Your recent scandalous reports talk of your visitations of the inner-city brothels and sleeping with Temparum sluts" the scholar responded.
The general rose to her feet, unsheathing her sword and pointing it towards the scholar, "Say another word Minerva and I'll drive my sword through your head"
The scholar took her spear, "Bellona of course you would, as expected from a thug"
Rolling my eyes. By the Maker, these two are always at each others throats during court meetings. How are they a part of the royal court again? Oh yeah, they're my cousins and it has been this ways --the royal court being made up of family members--since the beginning of the Magisterium.
Minerva and Bellona's feud all started during there time training at the Sol Academy in the Northern mountains when we we're in our early maiden years. Minerva chose battle strategy and Bellona chose battle style which just mean knowing how to kill and beat people, and they would always clash over they're chosen philosophy. Since they were both part of the royal family, people chose sides and they became rivals--with followers, temples, academies--since this day.
"By the Maker, can you both shut up!" finally a voice of reason "We get it, you both don't like each other it's very obvious to the rest of the court. Stand down and get back to your places before you both do something you'll regret" Diana scolded.
"She started it!" Minerva pointed
"Well your stupid" Bellona said
"Enough, back to your seats!" Diana told them
With a grumble they both lay down their weapons and got back to their seats glaring at each other. The tension in the room began to die down and it seemed like everyone just took a breath of relief knowing that a Civil War was not about happen.
"Now back to the matter in hand" Diana said turning to all of the council, "Do we or do we not attack Temparium"
"We do not" Minerva spoke out, "We benefit nothing from attacking this peasant country in East"
"How so?" Diana asked
"The land is nothing but a desert and steppe landscape. The land in which the Temparum actually live on is nothing but a patch of grass in the coast. The only resource with value in that country is silk and trading with them is reasonable given their economy and the value of silk." Minerva answered
"Why should we trade with them when we can just as easily capture their land and make the silk ours" Bellona said.
"Because sacrificing hundreds of our soldiers, by making them march through a barren wasteland is not worth the price of silk. Our soldiers will have to march through the Shurima desert and it is filled with nothing but sand demons and mercenaries, and an army is nothing but an easy target to them all. By the time we get to the Temparum kingdom land we would have no resources to spare and our soldiers would be half-dead." Minerva answered.
Bellona grumbled in her seat in irritation and defeat, knowing that Minerva was right about the cost of waging war against the Temparum. "Well there is the Labryinth"
