As I walked back backstage I was met with the angry face of the man who happened to be my boss.

"Where the hell were you! You are a makeup artist! You are supposed to do these models makeup nothing else! Do you remember who gave you this wonderful opportunity and this is how you repay me. With a show this big and just ditching your post. Wh-" he continued to yell as everyone watched, the other makeup artists looked a bit too scared to speak up. This was after all one of the best makeup companies in the U.S. an we all knew we were lucky to be here. I bit my lip as I looked down. It wasnt like I just said bump this I dont want to do it the women who gave our company the job pulled me aside and told me to do it. What was I gonna tell her? no? I would have been fired in an instant... My lip started to tremble but then a voice spoke up.

"Mr. Delacamp was it?" I didnt look up but I knew that this voice belonged to the production manager (who else thought that it might be the smirky Mr. King ;) ) "this young women who you have know embarrassed in front of her peers has done nothing wrong and does not deserve the punishment you're giving her. " I looked up (more like gave myself whiplash) at those words. Was this women who seemed even more intimidating than Mr. Delacamp standing up for me?

Looking over at Mr. Delacamp I noticed that his cheeks were tinted pink and that he seemed dumbfounded at the fact that this women had just stood up for me.

"Danielle I believe I then owe you an apology. Now if you will" he motioned to the station "get back to work that would be superb."

The words sounded forced along with his phony cheery tone. I knew for a fact that the next time we'd speak it would not be so pleasant. I had gotten him reprimanded in front of his own employees by his employer no less. Even of it was his own fault.

"Actually I think that I may need her help with a few things. It just so happens that my assistant quit today and she did a 'superb' job with the task I gave her. I hope you don't mind and that you're team can find some way to go on without her." She said smiling the whole time she talked but anyone could hear the mockingly sarcastic tone behind her words.

I looked over at her in suprise and then back at the furious Mr. Delacamp as he gave her a strained smile. "Of course. I'm sure our team will be just fine without her. I believe that this is a great opportunity for her." At that he turned on his heels not even waiting for an answer.

The production manager giggled as she motioned at me to follow. "Sorry for getting you in trouble but I just hate people that think it's okay to punish people without an explanation." She said softly as we walked out of the makeup area. I followed quietly, curious to see what she'd have me do.

"Anyways since we both know that that part about me not having an assistant is true, I will gladly take you helping me as my reward of thanks. If you work hard enough maybe you'll even get a job out of it."

I stopped in my tracks and looked at her incredulously. She didn't wait for me or stop, just continued walking down the hallway. She said nothing until she reached the end of the hallway, opening the door she turned her head.

"I don't have all day. If you're coming you start now." Then she was gone, disappearing through the doors.

I stayed frozen, mind whirling. Do I go back to Mr. Delacamp and grovel at his feet or do I follow the woman who saved me from having to do just that and some in front of my colleagues? Quickly walking towards the door and slipping through.

I looked around confused. There were plenty of people and even more computers.

"Finally, lets go. I was about to leave you. We have an incredibly tight schedule from here on out and everything must go without a hitch." She said shoving the same clipboard from earlier into my arms. "Well as close to that as we can. Now come along we have lots of work to do." With those words we were off.
