The next morning, Summer's phone buzzed incessantly on her bedside table. She groaned, pulling the covers over her head, willing it to stop. But the vibration didn't relent. With a frustrated sigh, she grabbed her phone and squinted at the bright screen.

Ana's name was at the top of her notifications. The text preview made Summer's stomach drop:
"Are you okay? Have you seen the TMZ post?"

She sat up immediately, her heart pounding. TMZ? What now?

She quickly unlocked her phone and saw a flood of notifications: Ana, Evelyn, Marc, and even Pau had texted her links to the same article. With shaky fingers, she clicked on one.

The headline read:
"FCB's Golden Boy Hector Fort Sparks Romance Rumors with Clara Delavine!"

The article featured a picture of Hector and Clara walking out of a restaurant together, laughing. Clara's hand rested lightly on Hector's arm as the two appeared to share a moment of camaraderie. To the outside world, it looked intimate, effortless, like a couple madly in love.

Summer's chest tightened as she scrolled down to see another picture—this time, Clara leaning closer to Hector during what looked like a casual conversation. The caption read: "Clara and Hector spotted looking cozy at Barcelona hotspot. Sources say the two have been seeing each other for weeks!"

Her stomach churned as she read the final line of the article:
"Fans are loving the new 'power couple' vibes. Looks like Hector's not just a star on the pitch—he's scoring off it, too!"

Summer dropped her phone onto the bed as if it had burned her. Her mind raced, replaying every moment they had shared over the past few weeks. The late-night conversations, the way he looked at her, the way he kissed her like she was the only person in the world.

And now this.

She took a deep breath, trying to push down the lump in her throat. But it was no use. The anger, the betrayal, the humiliation, it all came crashing down at once.

Her phone buzzed again. This time, it was Evelyn calling.

"Hey," Summer answered, her voice hoarse.

"Hey," Evelyn said cautiously. "Are you okay? I figured you'd see it by now."

"Yeah," Summer said bitterly. "Hard to miss."

Evelyn sighed. "Look, we all know that article's probably blowing things out of proportion. But... I thought you should hear it from me before you go online. People are talking. A lot."

Summer clenched her jaw. "Great. Just what I needed."

"Don't let it get to you," Evelyn said firmly. "You know how this stuff works. It's all smoke and mirrors."
