Just gonna write how my day was haha

So for starters, this is a thing my entire academy trust holds every year. I've never participated before, hell, I've never even performed before, but my drummer and lead guitarist have.

I'll do a chapter of photos when we get the videos back.

But anyway,

So at 1pm we went to the hall and started soundchecking all 15 bands. There's a junior section and a senior section. 8 fucking hours I was in there with no ear protection, I'm in fucking pain

But anyway, soundcheck was calm. Then our performance. We were the 2nd band after the interval.

Up until this point, id done really well and my bass strap [key point] was fine. But, right as I was heading on, that fucker broke. And it's new! I went on and I was all shaky, I couldn't breath properly and I was about to cry. But I pulled through

Verse 1 was calm, couldn't move about much (I hate my band and the song we played but wtv) but as soon as I start doing cool shit, the bass strap breaks off.

I hurriedly put it in again, and carried on, but it came off again and I had to finish the song on the floor TwT. I was gonna do cool shit as well!

I also fucked up 3 times, one that was just the wrong fret, and the other two I fucked the timing and had to stop playing for like 6 seconds lol.

After we got off stage, I started crying. My friend calmed me, which annoys me because I rarely cry, because I don't let myself. And I really needed to get shit out. But oh well. My best friend saw me crying from the audience and came backstage to give me hugs.

All the other bands played cool shit, like Green Day and Paramore and Limp Bizkit (I was stimming like crazy)

But...

WE WON THE JUNIOR SECRION!!1!1!2!2!2!2!!1!

I got to hold the trophy for a photo but that's it tbf haha, and in the acceptance they said we'd all performed last year but I hadn't. I tried saying so, but I didn't get to say anything haha. Bassists are invisible lol. But then the lead fucking guitarist for told to come yap and they were going on about how he's the reason we won mainly, and everyone congratulated him. The only reason we're doing this song is for him, so he can show off. It pisses me off. I just want to be noticed for what I do, I guess.

But we still won, at least he's in MY band..

He gets to keep the trophy but I said we all have to have it for at least a month, so we're taking it in turns.
