It's been a week after school started. So far it's alright. Emmeranne and I are walking to Potions, which luckily we have together.

I sigh as I look at Emmeranne. It is going to be a somewhat lonely year without Emmeranne with me most of the time. I know I'll make friends, but Emmeranne is better.

Emmeranne looked at me from the corner of her eye and made a face. I couldn't tell if she was confused, worried, or uncomfortable.

"What's wrong", she asked.

"I realized that we won't be able to hang out as much now that we're in different Houses", I tell her.

"But we'll still be friends. Don't worry about it", Emmeranne replied casually.

I study her expression. She didn't seem to care much. Emmeranne seemed to be daydreaming. Knowing Emmeranne she probably is. But what happened a week ago that is making her seem so happy?  Like if he were having a pleasant dream...

"We're here", Emmeranne said, interrupting my thoughts.

I walk into the Potions room and frown at the sight of my stepfather. I take my seat next to Emmeranne as he starts explaining what we're doing today. And of course, I didn't listen to a word he said. When he finally finished, we all started brewing our potions. How stupid, I thought. This is just mixing a bunch if randon things together. Emmeranne, on the other hand, was having alot of fun. I roll my eyes.

I threw more stuff into my cauldron. I looked at the other side of the room, and I got kind of weirded out.

I caught a boy looking at me. It's the same boy from the train, Draco Malfoy. He was looking at me for a split second, and when he noticed I was looking at him, he turned his attention to Emmeranne. But I swear he was looking at me. Bt he made it seem he was looking at Emmeranne the whole time.

Anyway,  it doesn't matter. I will not socialize with an enemy of my brother Harry. It would be betraying him, and I like my brother.  And I definitely won't flirt or even date Malfoy, so he could keep dreaming.

When class was dismissed,  I quickly packed my bag, and then shot an angry look at Malfoy. I'm not so good at sending messages like that as Emmeranne is, I sort of envied her for that. But I've been practicing in the mirror, so I think he got the message.

I waited for Emmeranne for a while, because she was hugging her dumb father good-bye. I rolled my eyes, then she nodded her head towards the exit. We both left.
