Chapter NINE- Sweet disaster

•••••

From Mommy ko😍:

Don't forget to eat your dinner, baby. I'll call you later.

I received a text from mom, time to time. She always reminds me to take vitamins and to eat a proper meal. Sinusunod ko naman siya, pero madalas hindi.

I don't like eating rice. I prefer fruits and bread, pero minsan ay wala akong magawa kundi kumain dahil iyon ang kailangan.

Hindi naman strict si mommy. She's always lovely and caring. She's so gentle in disciplining us.

But dad hits different...

From Daddy ko🤩:

Have you eaten dinner? Make sure you're eating there, Lair. Eat more rice. Drink water frequently, I have had bottled water delivered to your apartment, make sure to use it, fill it with water and take it wherever you go. I will deliver your breakfast to your apartment tomorrow. Don't be picky on whatever i pick. And if a man approaches you, kick him hard, okay? I love you always.

Minsan pa nga ay halos essay na ang tine-text niya sakin. He's always like that. Morning to evening, I always received text from him kahit pa kakatapos ko lang siya katawagan.

Dad is strict and looks like a stiff man. Let's just put this way, si mom ay nonchalant tapos si dad ay oa. A perfect blend for a long lasting marriage.

I've always dreamed of having a relationship like theirs. When Juharem came into my life, it felt like a dream come true. We were perfect—like a story straight out of a romance novel. But as they say, nothing lasts forever... In my case, I learned that the hard way.

As for Juharem, I can’t say I’ve completely moved on, but at least I’m not chasing anymore. I’m focusing my energy on things that are more meaningful and productive.

I barely think about him now, especially with all the responsibilities keeping me busy. Recently, I finally accepted an offer from RnG Modeling Company. I’m beyond excited because they’re forwarding my application to the main headquarters of RnB in New York. I just have to wait for the screening process. Mr. James even told me I have a great chance of getting accepted since I was recommended and endorsed by the board.

My life is moving forward again—I’m no longer stuck in the past.

Everything will be okay---or at least.

From Ugly Stranger:

Hey, Jai... Can u come and pick me up? I'm drunk.

Just as I was about to lie down on my bed, my phone beeped. A message.

A really weird message.

First of all, "Ugly Stranger" is none other than Juharem. I never had the heart to block his number, so I just renamed it to something more fitting for an ex. Second, of all the people in the world, why did he text me? His ex? Third, if he’s drunk, how is he still texting so clearly—no typos, no slurred words? And finally… why does he think I’d care?

Sure?

Okay! Fine! I care a bit... A slightest one. Just that.

Tumayo ako mula pagkaka upo sa kama ko at mariing tinitigan ang text.

"Oh, maybe this is not meant for me. Baka para sa bago niya tapos na wrong send---"
I aggressively shook my head, totally frustrated since I realized that he clearly mentioned my name there.

From Ugly Stranger:

Loc Street****

Now, he sent me his location! How good are you in pranking me, Del Reyes?!
