Scott lay on his bed, closing his eyes. He inhales deeply, his chest rising and falling with each lingering breath.
He winced at a sharp pain in his chest and his pupils widened. Adrenaline rushed to his head and he swore he wasn't breathing. He inhaled a quick breath but the result was a heart-wrenching feeling as if he was being stabbed right through his chest. He calls out for someone, but no one was there. Melissa was working a night shift tonight and Isaac had found his own place months ago when he moved back to Beacon Hills. He then tried to hold his breath and hold his chest tightly. This bought his some time but he couldn't hold it forever. He took another breath and.. -Hold on. Sometching wasn't right here. It disappeared just as easily as it had came. Scott blinked a couple times, trying to register his thoughts.

"What the hell was that." He said to himself.

Suddenly...

A loud, blaring noise made him jump on instinct! He looked over just to see that is was his phone. He wiped a hand across his face and groaned, looking over to see who it was.

That's the strange thing. The contact name was Allison.

Scott blinked a couple times and the name transitioned to Lydia. His brow furrowed and he picked it up, "Lydia?"

All Scott could hear were muffled noises and sniffles. "Lydia? Are you okay?" He asked soothingly, "Where are you?"

Scott listened quietly for a response but there wasn't one. Nothing at all.

Out of nowhere a blood-curdling scream took him by surprise. "Lydia where are you?!" He asked more aggressively.

Lydia whispered in a scratchy voice, "Animal clinic, hurry."

Scott ran the entire way. Once he arrived he fell through the door and Lydia ran into his arms. "Scott they were here, they were just here!"

Scott was surprised by Lydia's sudden grasp. Usually she was clutching onto Stiles, not him. "Who?" He asked

"I don't know," her voice cracked against the sudden tears, "But they were dangerous. It's like they radiated death."

"Well I'm going to call Stiles, okay?"

Lydia nodded and reassurance filled her teary eyes.

About ten minutes later Stiles and Lydia were in a hug fest and Scott was in the waiting room, looking out the window.

A big clunk at the window made his heart skip a beat. He peered out the window and a dead bird lay on the ground. Scott felt sorry for the bird and stared at it, challenging himself to guess what kind it was. Before he could get a good look, a bandaged hand reached out and grabbed the bird, lurking back into the darkness.

"Holy shit!" He stepped back, "Um, guys.." He glanced at the two, who were still holding each other. "..We may have a problem here."

Stiles, who had a firm but gentle grasp on Lydia, looked over. "What?"

"There was a bird a-..and a hand..." He trailed off, trying to visual-aid the situation with his hands.

Lydia raised an eyebrow, "A bird with a hand?" She asked.

"No, there was a bird and the hand took it!" Scott fumbled his words.

Stiles sighed, "Out of all the crazy shit we've seen, I don't think a hand and a bird should be our biggest concern. And besides, it was probably your hand. You probably just saw it out of the corner of your eye or something." Stiles says quickly. He knew Scott had been acting different lately and that no one could really believe what he was saying, although he was a supernatural and all.

Scott nods, "Yeah, I'm probably just seeing things." He looks down, "Well I'll see you guys tomorrow I guess." He stumbles out the door and walks home in the pouring rain.

That left Stiles and Lydia.

Stiles cleared his throat and looking to his left, "So did you maybe want to.. I don't know.. Maybe.."

Lydia's eyebrows perked up, "What is it? Do you want me to speak for you too, is that it?"

He chuckled at Lydia's sassy sense of humor and spoke up again, "Do you want to go back to my place so I can look out for you?" He asks sheepishly.

"Look out for me? What am I, eight? Does it look like I need a babysitter to you?" She snaps.

"No, I mean.. You just seem like you need someone, ya know?" He shrugs

She smiles softly, realizing that he paid more attention to her than she thought, "Alright."
