Manik's POV

She was lying unconscious, and my heart just stopped for a second. Kabir asked all to move aside to her to get some air. My forehead is filled with sweat seeing her. I took a water bottle near me and sprinkled it on her. Her eyes fluttered but she didn't open them wide.

I dialled Aunt's number but was cut off, thinking she might be tense. Then again, realising she is not only her Mom but also a Nurse, I dialled her. She instantly picked up her mobile. I talked about her situation, and she replied calmly letting her rest for a few minutes. Meanwhile, she'll come.

Mam came and asked about Nandini. I said that her Mom was on the way. But again, Aunt called and asked me to give her the medicine which was in her bag, which she kept for emergency situations like this. She won't be able to come so she asked me to take her home as there was an operation for her to assist. I ran to class and got her the medicine. Her friend made her have it. My body is drenched with sweat due to running.

Aunt called Mam to tell her the same thing. Mam accepted and asked me to take her home. A bike is not at all an option at this moment. Without me asking Kabir handed the keys. After a moment Nandini opened her eyes and glanced at everyone. Mam smiled at her and asked her to take a rest at home, ordering me to take her home. She nodded her head.

We went to the parking. She moved towards my bike, but I stood at Kabir's car to which she narrowed her eyes at me. I don't think it's a good choice. So I opened the car door. But she just stood there murmuring something.

I don't know what to do. I can't shout at her in her condition, nor do I have the energy to convince her. I waited for her to join me in the car. After an eternity, she sat beside me.

I drove off and in the midway, I saw the coconut water and made her drink it. Reaching home I asked her to rest. She didn't reply but went in. I, too, followed . Till now, she followed my words, but when I said to take a rest, she started watching TV as if nothing happened. I asked her to have some food as she fainted due to weakness. Her eyes are glued to the Screen like she gonna miss something If she glances at me. I insisted on getting some sleep after having food. But she ignored me. I took the plate and served her some food in the hotpack. Even though it was less, I don't think she'll complete it. I persisted in having some food, glaring at me.

Without letting me utter another word, she asked me to leave after turning off the TV. I left for school, leaving her to rest after she ate food.

Even though I was surrounded by students and had a lot of things to complete. My thoughts drifted to her again and again. My Day was completed fast with very few things left for another day. Students stayed up late to practice as there were only a few days left before the Annual Day.

I was the only one who was in a hurry to go home. I went home and checked on Nandini. Aunt opened the door and said that she had night duty and asked me to take her to my home. For which I'm glad.

I went home and freshened up. After a while, I heard the words of Nandu and Grandpa. I'm glad she was here. I came down but she was nowhere. I thought I was hallucinating. Grandpa and I had dinner. When I said I'd check on her, Grandpa said she was asleep.

I questioned," What about food?". "She had, that's what she said", Grandpa replied. "Why don't you make sure to have some here?" I questioned, as I knew she might lie. "I tried but I couldn't force her, so I let her sleep," He said calmly.

I opened the guestroom door, and she was in pain, holding her stomach. I asked, "If she needs anything ".She removed her hands and sat like she was not at all facing anything. She replied that she was Okay, no worries.

Seeing her acting like this, was affecting me. I feel angry at her as she is hiding her pain. And also respect for her that she can manage everything alone.
