I stared out the plane window, watching the clouds drift by as the city of Mumbai came closer into view. The entire flight had been unusually silent. Aarav was seated beside me, completely immersed in his laptop, his fingers flying over the keyboard as if the fate of the world depended on whatever he was working on.

I shifted in my seat, sneaking glances at him. He was so annoyingly focused as if I didn't even exist. It wasn't like I wanted his attention—okay, maybe a little—but the silence was getting unbearable.

Unable to take it anymore, I cleared my throat and turned toward him. "So... why exactly are you coming with me?"

Aarav didn't even look up. "I have some meetings in Mumbai."

I narrowed my eyes. That answer was way too convenient. "Really? Meetings?"

"Yes."

"That's funny because I don't remember you mentioning any meetings before."

Aarav finally looked at me, his expression unreadable. "You keep track of my meetings now?"

I scoffed. "No! I just find it suspicious that the moment I decide to go to Mumbai, you suddenly have work there too."

He smirked, shutting his laptop. "Would you prefer if I said I just wanted to spend time with my lovely wife?"

I blinked. That was... unexpected.

"No," I blurted, folding my arms. "That would be even more suspicious."

He chuckled, shaking his head, but didn't say anything else. Before I could press him further, the pilot announced our landing.

We arrived at Mumbai airport, and I inhaled deeply, feeling the rush of familiarity. The bustling crowd, the distinct scent of coffee mixed with the humid city air—it all felt like home.

As we walked toward the exit, I looked around, searching for the baggage claim. "Where's our luggage?" I asked, realizing Aarav wasn't making any move toward it.

Without even breaking stride, he replied, "Someone will take care of it. You don't need to worry about it."

I stopped in my tracks, staring at him in disbelief. "Excuse me?"

Aarav turned, giving me a questioning look. "What?"

I let out a small laugh, shaking my head. "You really haven't changed at all, have you?"

His brows furrowed slightly. "What do you mean?"

I playfully nudged his arm. "The first time we met, right here in this very airport, you bumped into me and walked off like some arrogant prince, while I was struggling with my luggage."

Aarav smirked. "And yet, here we are. Married."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, against my will."

His smirk widened. "And yet, here we are."
