Amina's POV

I lay on the hospital bed, staring at the ceiling, lost in my thoughts. The quiet hum of the IV drip attached to my right hand was the only sound in the room.

The sudden creak of the door snapped me out of my daze. Zayd's mother and Layla walked in, their faces etched with worry.

"Beta," Mom said, her voice gentle yet full of concern. "Kaisi ho tum ab?"

[How are you now?]

"I'm fine, Mom," I replied softly.

She sighed in relief but then shook her head. "Tumne toh hamari jaan hi nikal di thi, Amina."

[You nearly gave us a heart attack, Amina.]

I lowered my gaze, guilt settling in my chest.

"Amina, you should have at least told me if you weren't feeling well," Layla scolded, sitting beside me and holding my hand.

I smiled reassuringly. "I'm fine now, don't worry."

Layla huffed. "You know, brother was so tense when you weren't waking up."

I stiffened at her words, not wanting to dwell on that. "Where is bhabhi?" I asked, trying to change the topic.

"She's at home, preparing dinner for you," Mom said. Then she turned to Layla. "Go call your brother."

Layla nodded. "Okay, Mom," she said before leaving the room.

Moments later, He entered, his posture tense, his eyes scanning me with impatience. "Is everything alright?"

"Yes, everything is fine," Mom assured him.

He walked toward me, his presence overwhelming in the small space. My heart pounded as he sat on the bed beside me.

"Why is your face red? Do you have a fever?" he asked, his brows furrowing as he reached out to touch my forehead.

His palm was warm against my skin, sending a shiver through me. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe.

"I... I'm fine," I finally whispered, gently moving his hand away. But even after he pulled back, my skin tingled where he had touched me.

He lowered his gaze and stood up, his expression unreadable.

From behind him, Layla stifled a laugh, her eyes twinkling with mischief. I shot her a glare, but she only smirked.

"Zayd, I think we should take Amina home. Her saline is also finished," Mom said.

"Yes, Mom. I'll call the doctor," he replied, his voice firm.

A few minutes later, Dr. Khan entered with a nurse. The nurse removed my IV while Dr. Khan checked my vitals.

"Take your medicine on time," she instructed.

"Yes, Doctor," I said.

"Can we take her home now?" Mom asked.

Dr. Khan nodded. "Yes, but make sure she gets proper rest and follows her medication schedule."

"Of course," Zayd replied, looking at me briefly but avoiding my gaze.

I watched him, my heart still unsteady, wondering if he had been as worried as Layla had said.

We reached home, and as soon as I stepped inside, Bhabhi rushed to me, wrapping me in a warm hug.

"Amina, are you fine now?" she asked, her face etched with worry.

I offered her a small smile. "Han, Bhabhi, mai theek hoon. Aap fikr  na karein."
