The lights of the press conference still burned in Yoongi's mind, even though he had long since left the podium. His hands trembled slightly as he pressed them into his lap, staring blankly at the dark leather of his car's interior. The apology had been necessary—he knew that. But it hadn't made him feel any less hollow.
He had made a mistake, yes, but the way the world had descended upon him, the way the media had picked apart every second of the incident, made it feel as if he had committed something far worse. The weight of public scrutiny was suffocating. He had spent years being careful, being calculated. And now, he was nothing but a headline.
The drive to the company was silent, the atmosphere heavy with unspoken emotions. When he arrived, he kept his head down, his now short-cropped hair barely covering the shame that burned in his expression. He had expected to return to an empty office, to sit alone with his thoughts and regrets. What he didn't expect was the commotion just outside his door.
Yoongi barely had time to register the sound of his voice before the door was thrown open, and there he stood. His own hair was just as short, his presence fierce and commanding. The staff inside the office froze, eyes wide as Jimin strode in, his expression thunderous.
"Out," Jimin snapped, his voice leaving no room for argument. "All of you. Now."
There was hesitation for only a second before the staff members scattered, not daring to question him. Yoongi, still in his seat, blinked in shock. He hadn't seen Jimin in months, and yet here he was, standing before him like a force of nature. Jimin's expression was a mixture of fury and concern, his eyes burning with intensity.
"Jiminie," Yoongi murmured, his voice barely above a whisper as he tried to process his sudden appearance. He hadn't expected this. After everything that had happened, he hadn't thought his boyfriend would even want to see him.
Without saying a word, Jimin crossed the room in a few swift strides and grabbed Yoongi's face, pulling him up from his chair. Yoongi barely had time to react before Jimin's lips were on his, fierce and urgent. It was a kiss that said everything Jimin didn't have the words to express. His lips were soft but demanding, and Yoongi, still frozen in surprise, let out a quiet gasp before he kissed back.
The kiss deepened, and Yoongi's hands moved instinctively to Jimin's waist, pulling him closer as if trying to absorb the warmth he had been missing. He could feel the tension in Jimin's body, the way his hands trembled against his skin. It wasn't just passion—it was something raw, something desperate.
When they finally pulled away, both were breathing heavily, their foreheads resting against each other. Yoongi could see the concern in Jimin's eyes, and for the first time in a long while, he felt like he wasn't carrying the weight of the world alone.
Jimin's anger was barely contained. "What the hell is wrong with people, hyung? The way they've blown this out of proportion, like you're some kind of criminal? You made a mistake. A stupid, human mistake. But the way they're treating you..." Jimin exhaled sharply, his fists clenching the fabric of Yoongi's dress shirt. "It makes me sick."
Yoongi dropped his gaze to the floor, sitting back down in the chair, his hands gripping his knees. "I don't know how to fix it."
Jimin's anger softened as he knelt in front of him, placing a hand on his knee. "You don't have to fix it alone."
Yoongi squeezed his eyes shut. "It feels like I'm drowning, Jiminie."
"You're not," Jimin whispered. "I won't let you."
