Reaching the bottom of the stairs I started walking into the living room but quickly stopped when I heard my parents talking.

"-tell her." My mom was saying.

"We have to. You know it's the right thing." My dad replied.

"I know it's just I feel like she won't look at me the same way-"

She saw me around the corner and quickly forced a smile motioning me to come sit in between them. I reluctantly obeyed although I was worried.

"Jacks you know we love you, right?" My dad asked. I nodded. That did help calm my nerves much.

"Did I do something wrong because whatever John and Jacob was a lie and-"

"Woah, woah, woah. Settle down you didn't do anything." My mom started but quickly added. "That I know of..."

"So there was something you wanted to tell me?" I quickly prompted so she wouldn't start questioning me about why I was home from school so early.

"Yes..." My dad looked at my mom.

"I know this past year hasn't been that easy for you-" mom started.

"Yeah your telling me." I muttered by mom kept going pretending she didn't here me.

"-and I'msorry for that but I'm afraid that it's about to get a whole lot more difficult."

A chill went through me. Military school. I overheard both of them talking about sending me to military school because I was getting to much out of hand.

They wouldn't meet my eyes. My mom took a deep breathe before saying the two words I didn't expect to hear.

"Your adopted."

I sat there completely and utterly stunned. "What!? So your telling me your not my real parents!" I stood up and started to pace. "Okay I'm jut going to need to take a minute here." I put my hands in my head. "Wow adopted." A thought came to mind.

"Wait! Do you know my parents?"

They shared a look. "Yes." My dad replied. I was about to ask a bunch of questions. Where are they? Why did they leave me? What do they look like?
But the questions got stuck in my throat.

I looked at my parents with there sad expressions and thought back to the words my mom just said. "I know it's just I feel like she won't look at me the same way-"

The questions quickly died.

I ran over and hugged them both. Mom started to tear up and dad smiled and hugged me back. "I love you guys." I whispered.

I heard someone clear there throat behind us. We turned and I saw John and Jacob.

I smiled and ran up and hugged them and then dragged them over into a family group hug despite their protests.

The rest of the night was just like any other. We ordered a pizza and watched a movie, but those questions were still in the back of my mind and I was going to get them answered.
