3rd person POV

Emptiness, a never ending feeling.
Something that suffocates you and and keeps you down.

Every time you think you feel better, it's always the emptiness that comes again, like a wave and knocks you down.

It drowns you.

Maenya wondered if that feeling, the feeling she felt herself being slowly killed by, was similar to the last thing her daughter would have felt, would it have been worse? or scarier? more painful maybe? or if she had died before feel into the icy claws of the sea.

She wondered what her daughter would have thought of in the end? Was it her? It could have been Talos or perhaps it was just the need for air.

All questions that would never be answered.
The only person who could answer them would be Laella, whose mother was currently searching for her body.

Or whatever was left of it.

She had seen another dragon, flying around nearby, it was probably her sister, looking for her son's remains.

Neither of them cared to acknowledge each other.

She could see Rhaenyra and Syrax off in the distance, in her peripheral
They were standing in some rocks near the ocean

Maenya and Meraxes were next to storms end castle.

The men of storms end were out in the oceans looking for laella whilst Rhaenyras men looked for Luke.

Maenya let them.
She could've ordered them to be killed, but she didn't.

A last act of kindness.

Part of Maenya knew that this would truly no one's fault, that the children had attacked each other
It was not a planned attack but something gnawed at her.
If Rhaenyra had only listened when Viserys changed his mind, none of this would have happened.

Maybe Maenya should have just given up.
Yes the crown was hers but so was her child, and she lost the one she loved significantly more.

Daemon was back in kingslanding.
She knew he was frustrated that she left alone, worried too, that she wasn't in a good state of mind whilst being all alone.

She didn't know who had pledged allegiance to her yet, nor did she care.

Not as she left, not as she searched the endless ocean and not as the men started pulling the boats in, having found something.
