Chapter 3: Taming The Water Beast

Misty was back in her gym, Noctowl was sitting on its perch as always.
Suicune was going crazy, though, and Misty was trying to calm it down.
"Suicune! You're safe now it's okay!" She shouted.
Ash was in the lobby though.
Misty's sisters weren't doing any work, as usual.
"Can I see Misty, please?" Ash asked.
"I guess you can, but like, don't let her know you're there." Daisy said.
"Yeah, she like, can't be bothered." Said Violet.
Ash opened the gym doors and went inside, only to see Misty pulling the reins of Suicune, trying to calm it down.
When she finally did, it didn't even trust her.
"Suicune, please... I'm here to help you." She said.
"Dear Arceus, she's trying to get you situated. If you just listened this could be a lot easier for you and her. I saw what happened with Craig and John. Misty's not like them. She's a great trainer and you would know that if you obeyed her." said Noctowl.
"But what if she hurts me?" Asked Suicune. Her voice was soft and calm, but she it had a sense of fear in it.
"She won't." Replied Noctowl.
Suicune stopped fighting back and stood there, waiting for Misty to say something.
"Can I take you to Cerulean Cave?" Misty asked it.
It nodded, but at first, was hesitant.
She led the creature outside slowly, and over to the cave.
"Y'know, it would be much better if you knew how to talk." Misty said to it, sitting down by the cave's entrance.
"Oh, but I can. I may not be able to speak as you humans do, but I can still speak through telepathy with the words and intelligence of humans. Most cannot do that. But a very wise Alakazam taught me how to. It took many years of practice, but I mastered it just like him." Suicune said to Misty.
"You can? Then why didn't you earlier? I was trying to help you." Misty asked it after petting it's neck.
Ash was watching the conversation, but he wondered why Misty was talking to it like that, since most Pokémon can only say their names or make one sound.
"I didn't trust you. Not until Noctowl told me to. Have you been his trainer for a long time?" asked Suicune.
"I have. Ash gave him to me. He's one of my most special. We go everywhere together. One time I went to the Hano region, they don't allow Pokémon there. But I snuck Noctowl anyway. Do you have anyone special to you?"
"Alakazam has been my friend since I was very young. I was captured and they took me and Alakazam away. They sold him, but kept me for the contest. Why did you want to win the contest, Misty? Glory? Power? Wealth?" Asked Suicune curiously.
"No, I wanted to help you. I already have those three. I don't exactly like it either. Every five seconds someone meets you and wants your autograph. I never want to be rude about it. So I give it to them anyway. Right now is actually very peaceful since my sisters have taken over the gym again. Noctowl brought me a letter written by someone called 'The Host' and I couldn't bear to let you be treated like that any longer." Misty told her.
"But what about Ash? He wanted me didn't he?" Asked Suicune.
"Yes, he did, and I'm sure he would've treated you well too. But I'm not sure if he would've been able to handle you. Yes, he made have been able to train a Charizard, but with you it's much different. Love, care, and attention. And could I ask you a question?"
"Go on."
Misty showed Suicune a saddle. "Do you think I could ride you?"
"I suppose so. Put it on my back."
She put the saddle on Suicune, then fastened Suicune's reins to it and climbed on to the creature.
"This isn't so bad... Suicune do you mind that your mane is under the saddle? It's the only way I could get on."
"I'm not bothered."
"Misty why are you talking to Suicune?" Ash walked up and asked her.
"I felt like it." Misty lied.
"You were having a conversation with it."
"'It' is a 'her!' Now, please refrain from asking more questions about it." Misty exclaimed.
"I'm talking to you like this, Ash. And now you know." Suicune told him through telepathy.
"It talked!" Ash said.
"That's what you think." Said Misty as she rode into the cave.
