"I'm pretty sure he dropped that Katie girl," your roommate announces across the couch to you as she scrolls through her favorite celebrity gossip website. "Thanks for telling me?" You say, unsure of her motives. "Okay don't even act like that. Don't think I forgot how you ran after him when he was here a few months ago." Her explanation brought every feeling from that moment back to you and you quickly get up from the couch and walk to the kitchen not wanting to address those emotions. "There's a match tonight," she says loudly, quickly changing the subject. "And?" You question, poking your head around the corner. "And...we haven't used the season tickets I renewed yet."
"Why would I go?"
"Because you love football and I love football and you aren't going to let any big shot get in the way of that." You stand in the doorway to think. It had been almost an entire year since you had moved back in and she had been there with you every day. You felt a little guilty for clearly imposing like you had and make up your mind. "Fine." She smiles at your response and gets up from the couch. "It isnt like he's going to be in the stands anyways." This way true, he never sat in the stands while the two of you were together, which meant he surely wouldn't be back down there now. You take the next few hours to prepare yourself to walk back into Old Trafford since moving out of Louis' house. "Ready?" She asks from your doorway. You stare deep into your reflection in the full length mirror and realize that it is time to face this part of your life. You nod and follow her out of the apartment. The two of you make your way to the seats you had been sitting in when you had met Louis for the first time. The memories are harder to take than you expect. "You okay?" She turns around to ask. You push the memories away and nod, sliding through the aisle to take your seat. You look out over the pitch and your eyes begin to water. "Big breaths," she reminds you, taking your hand in her's with a comforting squeeze. Once you are able to relax your surroundings seem manageable. You notice the rest of your aisle is standing up as another fan shuffles to the open seat in your row, the one beside you. Your roommate stands up and you go to follow but your eyes stop you. "What are you doing here?" You question, remaining in your seat as Louis steps over your legs and sits in the empty seat beside you. "This is my team babe," he answers. "I mean, what are you doing down here?" You asks more specifically. "This is my seat. I have sat here every match since you left in the hopes that one day you would come back to watch the team." His explanation causes physical pain in your chest. "That's ridiculous."
"Is it?" His blue eyes starred straight through you. "Are you alright?" Your roommate asks and you turn to her and nod. "I'm going to go get something to eat," she tells you and the thought of being here with Louis, again, was uneasy. You nod though and she gets up and walks away. You turn back to him and he is smiling. "Don't."
"Don't what?"
"Don't smile like that."
"Like what? This is my usual smile I'm pretty sure." You roll your eyes and face the pitch. "You can't ignore me. You're stuck with me for the entire match." You turn to him, your eyes starting to water. "Have you really been here every match?" He nods and a tear falls from your eye. He reaches to brush it away but you stop him. "Why?" You choke. "Because I love you whether you want to believe that or not. I have loved you every day since this moment almost three years ago." You blink and more tears begin to fall. "Why are you crying?" You take a moment to gather your emotions before answering. "I miss you." He says nothing as his arm stretches around you, bringing you into him. His familiar smell calms you and you pull back. "I need you," he says before you can get anything out. "But your lies..." is all you can get out before your emotions stop you. "I don't even know why I acted like that. I was partying too much and I didn't want you to leave me because of that but I guess I didn't think about that lying. I'm sorry. I really am, you deserve so much more than that and I just..." You press your lips to his, interrupting his apology. His arms wrap around you tightly making you realize that in his arms is where you were meant to be.
