Jake's POV

I sat her on the bed and started taking off her cold clothes. I read somewhere that with a person experiencing hypothermia, it's good to warm them up with warm materials and heating packs. Conner went straight into the kitchen and made her a cup of hot tea. She was still unresponsive and it was scaring me. I know I'm the last person she wants to talk to or even look at, but I was terrified. I took off most of her clothes, leaving her in her underwear and wrapping covers around her. She was starring into space, not responding to anything, only shivering violently as I checked her dresser and closet for a set of warm pajamas.

"Here. Take these. All of her pajamas are thin and silky. No, I didn't like the fact that Conner gave me a pair of his pajama pants and a long sleeved shirt for her but I wasn't going to let my stubbornness hurt Megan more than she was. "Is there a doctor that we can call, man?" I ask him, urgently as he handed me the cup of tea. "Um, I don't know. I can call the main office and find out." He gave me the cup of tea and ran back into the main room. There was a point in time where I doubted his care and concern for Megan, but if it weren't for Conner calling me to go look for Megan who knows what would have happened to her. I took off my UCLA football crew neck and placed it on her. At least she'd have something of mine on, my pride huffed.

"Hey, Jake. I know it's late but I just wanted to know of Megan is there with you?" It had to be at least 1:30 in the morning. "It's 1:32 in the morning, plus she isn't too happy with me at the moment." I said bitterly. I knew that Megan heard the exchange made by Celia and Ashely earlier but that's not how I wanted her to find out. I was going to tell her last night, but I screwed up and almost kissed her.

"Well she went to drop Ashely off at the airport at 11 something, she hasn't been back nor has she called me. I'm worried." Usually a drop off at the airport only takes seconds -minutes if you wanted to say goodbye. Something didn't feel right, "why don't we take a ride to the airport? It's an hour out but if she's not okay it'll be worth the ride." I say shuffling into my closet to put the appropriate amount of clothes on. "That's what I was thinking. Meet me in the lobby in two minutes." Conner said before hanging up.

Once I was dressed, I headed straight towards the front door. Not bothering to tell Celia where I was going. She was sleep and I liked to keep it that way.

"Okay, so from what the clerk at the desk told me. Once we're outside the resort it's a straight run on one road." Conner said once we got into the rental. "So if Megan were stuck on the side of the road, we definitely see her?" I assumed and Conner shook his head, "yes".

"The clerk also mentioned that's it's a two lanes road, one going towards the airport and the other coming back towards the resort. He said it was very dark and a lot of animals roam around at night." Conner said nervously scratching the back of his neck. I didn't say anything but my stomach dropped. "Did you try calling her?" I asked him, while taking out my phone. "It went straight to voicemail, all nine times." I locked my phone and put it back into my pocket, there's no use in calling her now.

Once we made it to the exit of the resort, it only took us 3 minutes to spot something moving on the side of the rode. At first I thought it was a deer until I saw it standing on two feet in a cream colored coat and essentials to match. "My god!" Conner hissed, rolling down his window to het a better look. "That's her!" I shouted and pointed. Once Conner slammed on his brakes, Megan fell to her knees, shivering. "Shit." I heard Conner mumble.

I jumped out of the car and ran to her side, picking her up immediately. She tried clinging to my chest but she grip kept slipping, good thing I was holding onto her. "Blast the heat! Her lips are blue." I sat her in the back of the car with me. Placing her upper body one my lap, hugging onto her. Frantically hoping I was keeping her warm, I rocked her back and forth. She just sat there, no responding to anything with this blank start on her face. Conner handed me his jacket to wrap around her before he tried talking to her, "are you okay?" Nothing. I just say there rocking her. "Conner, drive back to the resort. We need to warm her body back up, she's literally freezing."
