My heart skipped a beat, the heart monitor cheerfully echoing the fact to everyone else in the room. It sped up as my eyes took in the male currently coming to stand at the foot of the bed.
That's...
If he had been handsome in my mind, then I was doing him poor justice. There was no mistaking who he was. Who they were. Even my wildest dreams were never this detailed or crazy.
Ranger.
The Ranger stood, gazing at me with the famed hooded gaze of suspicion. The gaze that looked lazy, but was truly calculating and observing to an almost interrogative effect. His deep blue eyes flashed with curiosity hidden in their depths. He wore a grey shirt that fit much like Ethan's, proving that he too was well built. Though his muscles seemed to be more tight and compact, I knew he was stronger than his partner.
The muscles of his arms flexed as he set a white plastic bag on the foot of my bed, drawing my attention easily.
I felt no better than a hormone crazed 13 year old.
Dark washed jeans hung lazily to his hips, and I could still tell from one blushing glance that he had strong legs of a professional runner. Hell, I knew already he was as fast as an Olympic athlete if he put his mind to it. Everything about these boys rung with strength and dominance, but I didn't need to be told by a book that Ranger was the leader here.
God was it apparent right now, sitting in the same room. Ethan was easy to be around, though he was still intimidating to a reasonable standpoint. But Ranger? I was nearly trembling. Though I couldn't tell if it was from excitement or nervousness.
God that's cheesy...
"Well?" The male in question asked, a dark eyebrow raising up. I heard Ethan shift uncomfortably.
"Ranger, give the girl some time to-"
"I don't know..." I spoke up, breaking my eyes away from him to look back toward Ethan with an attempted smile. I was positive they noticed the sudden increase of my heart rate. The stupid monitor had picked up the moment Ranger had entered the room and still refused to settle down.
Ethan frowned, blinking at me as he leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees as he looked at me. I felt Ranger sit at the foot of my bed on the right side, placing a foot up on to the second chair beside Ethan's. With both of them in the same room it felt almost unbearably tiny.
"What do you remember then?" Ethan asked.
"I-"
"What are you?" Ranger cut off my answer, and Ethan snapped his eyes toward his friend with obvious irritation.
"We need to know everything." Ranger continued, his eyes never once leaving my own. I could only imagine my blush to be nearly horrific.I fidgeted nervously as his gaze bore into me without mercy. While it sounded amazing in the books, the power of it had me fidgeting despite my physical discomfort. I was almost scared of him.
"I-If you tell me what I want to know... your side of things." I bargained, though my voice sounded anything but strong.
"Deal." He spoke without hesitation.
"Go on."I licked my lips, my fingers moving to smooth over the plaster on my left wrist as I collected my thoughts. They retracted the moment I realized what I was doing, and I suppressed a shudder. My eyes traveled between the two. It didn't hit me for a moment that I had been looking for a way to escape until Ethan cleared his throat and gave me a pointed look.
"Well... Its not too clear to me..." I admitted sheepishly.
"My name is Ella Marino... and I don't know how I got here exactly. I had been sitting at home, reading -"
