"Stacy told me you had a dad who is always traveling but what about your mom?" Phoebe asked. "You talked to Stacy? Why do I care who you talk to? Why are you asking questions?" Hailey said getting a drink. "I'm just curious." Phoebe said as she followed Hailey. "Why won't you use your curiosity somewhere else?" Hailey said sitting down. "You seemed like a person in the shadows so you might be interesting." Phoebe said. Hailey laughed and said, "You must be joking. No one dares to talk to me. What are you up to?" Phoebe then remembered Stacy saying don't get Hailey suspicious. "An interview from one of my classes." Phoebe lied. Hailey stared at Phoebe and said, "Yeah right. Leave me alone." Phoebe opened her mouth and said but and Hailey squeezed the paper cup and juice squirted everywhere. "I said LEAVE ME ALONE." Hailey said. Phoebe scooted her chair back a little and said, "No! I won't leave." Hailey glanced at Phoebe and grabbed a rag and wiped the table. "Fine." Hailey sat down and began, "Back in 1990's my mom was working at a coffee shop. My dad was new to Oklahoma and he arrived at the coffee shop. My mom fixed up a coffee and my dad loved it. He instantly fell in love with her but my mom didn't yet. My dad told my mom that he wants to go on a date but my mom had a boyfriend already. My dad was heartbroken but my mom ran after him. My mom hated seeing my dad upset. She explained the whole thing to her boyfriend and he understood. On the date, they discovered similar likes and my mom kinda fell in love with my dad. After 6 dates, my dad proposed with a dessert. My mom decline his propose and said she had a boyfriend. My dad didn't understand and told her sister. Her sister wanted them to marry so they could use their first child to help with farming. My dad thought that was a good idea and so he asked my mom. My mom agreed and had a child 2 years later. My dad was full of joy and made my mom stay for 4 more years. They had me and my mom didn't want to overload my dad with children because she was planning to leave. One night, when I was young, she left me. A year ago, I discovered her name, Amanda Jenkins and she went to Texas leaving me behind. She would have went to Oklahoma but she didn't want anymore trouble." Hailey got up and took a gulp of water. "That's why you are mean." Phoebe said. Hailey shook her head and said, "No, my mom reconnect with her boyfriend and had two kids. She never visited since. I know I was born by mistake but I'm still her kid!" Phoebe patted Hailey on the shoulder and Hailey stood up and shrugged. Hailey walked out of the cafeteria leaving Phoebe alone.
