Reba's eyes went wide as she stared at him. "Oh no, you can't miss me. That's not how this works. I'm supposed to miss you and trip over my words whenever I see you. You're supposed to hate my guts for cheating on you. That's how this worked, but now, I'm going to think that we have a chance at getting back together. The last thing I want to do is think about us getting back together. I don't need a repeat of what happened with us to happen to Ronnie and me."
"Do you love him?"
Reba's jaw dropped as she stared at Narvel. "What do you mean?"
"Do you love him?" Narvel repeated, staring straight into Reba's blue eyes. She stared back at him before letting out a sigh and leaned back in her chair. She thought for a moment before turning her head to look out the window they were sitting next.
"Not like I love you," she muttered to herself before turning back. "Can we stop talking about this?"
"No. We need to talk about this."
"Why?" She questioned, her accent thick on the word.
"Because we never talked about it."
"I didn't think it was something that required talking."
"We should've talked about it."
"What do you mean we should've talked about it?"
"We should've tried to work it out."
"Narvel, if you keep talking about this, I'm going to go home."
"I really think we need to talk about this."
"Goodbye. I'll see you tomorrow to not talk about this anymore," Reba stated as she closed her book and stood up. She started to walk away when Narvel spoke.
"I still love you." Reba stopped in her tracks before shaking her head and continuing out to her car.

Reba walked into her house, muttering to herself. She kept muttering as she wandered into the kitchen, not noticing that Alice sat at the kitchen table, reading over a book. She looked up when she heard her little sister enter the room. "Why are you muttering to yourself?" Alice questioned as Reba opened the fridge and pulled a water bottle out.
"What do you mean why am I muttering to myself, I always mutter to myself."
"You only mutter to yourself when you're upset or thinking about something." Reba let out a huge sigh and sat down across from her eldest sibling.
"Narvel told me that he misses me." Alice's eyes went wide as she listened to her sister. "And that he's still in love with me."
"What are you going to do?" Reba groaned as she threw her head back. She looked over at Alice.
"I don't know. What should I do?"
"I think you need to break up with Ronnie and take sometime and think this over." Reba bit his lip and nodded her head. Just then, their Mama comes walking into the room to start dinner.
"What are ya girls gabbing on about in here?"
"Nothin'!" Reba stated as she shot out of her seat and darted up the stairs. Jackie's eyes followed her middle daughter.
"Alice. Explain. Now."
"Narvel told her that he misses her and that he still loves her." Jackie nodded her head before abandoning the kitchen in order to go deal with her daughter's love life. Quietly, she knocked on the door to her daughter's room.
"Can I come in, Reba?" Jackie heard a sniffle and some rustling before the door opened. Standing front of her was her confusing and crying little red head. "Oh sweetheart," Jackie whispered as she wrapped Reba up in her arms.
"What do I do, Mama?" Jackie kissed the top of her daughter's head before resting her cheek against it.
"Whatever your heart tells you to." Reba nods her head and looks up at her mother.
"I want Narvel. My heart is screaming for him, Mama. I want nothing but him. But my brain keeps telling me that it's a bad idea, that I could hurt him again, that I could lose him forever."
"Reba, we all know how upset you were when you cheated. We know how heartbroken you've been. So, I know that you're never going to hurt him again if you love him as much as you think you do." Reba nodded her head before hugging her mother again.
"Thanks, Mama. I love you."
"I love you too, Red."
