Chapter 3

'ill b there soon i hav 2 go 2 book store 1st' I texted Macey. It was the day after the consert and I'm glad it's over. I was horrible! There were thousands of girls similar to how Macey and I were dressed and every single one of them were squealing. I sware that if they had let one more squealing girl in my ear drums would've burst. It's not like Chase Stars not a horrible singer or anything, he's actually quite good, it's just that most girls probably like his looks more.

'yea all the guys r gonna go 4 u cuz u hav a book!' Macey texted me back. We all promised Carly that we would do the usual for her breakup. We've been doing the usual since we were 15 and it's always been the same group of girls; Carly, , Kasey, Ellie and I, but we've always gone to different places. No one's ever come up with a new name for it,  so we've always just calld it the usual. We always go to a place that has really hot guys and flirt with them to see how many guys numbers we can get. The next weekend after that we all go have a sleep over at someone's house and we prank call all the guys who gave us their numbers. It's really mean I know, but it helps us to get over heart break so we just do it. But we have only one rule for this occasion, we can only ever do this if one of us gets dumped.

'xactly theyl think im intellectual' I texted her. I walk straight into QBD and head straight to my favourite section. After scaning the book shelves for a few minutes, I finally find the book I'm looking for. I've been dying to read this book ever scince I finished the one before it, this one's suppost to be epic! I turn around, deciding to go to the check out counter before I see another series that I'll get hooked to, when I bump into a guy with shandy blonde hair and the deepest brown eyes. There's only one word that can decribe him, seriously hot. Oops I mean 2.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there," I say bending down to pick up the book I just dropped,but he beats me to it.

"It's okay, I shouldn't have been looking over you shoulder for a book," he says handing me the book. He was looking over my shoulder, that's not creepy at all. "I was just looking for a new book that's all. I'm Jayson by the way" Jayson, interesting.

'Well, I hope you find the book you're looking for, I'm Summer," I smile at him, he smiles back with the whitest teeth I have ever seen.

"I think I have," he say grabbing the book I have off the book shelf.

"Just to let you know that if you haven't read the first two books, then that one won't make any sense to you," I tell him.

"Well then, which one is the first?" he asks, turning his gaze from me to the book self.

"It’s this one,” I grab the book off the self and hand it to him.

“I think I might enjoy this book, thanks.” He says gazing at the cover. He turned the book to its back and read the blur. His face turned from curiosity to a wide grin that spread across his face.

“It’s okay. Well, it was nice meeting you,” I say, as I turn around to go to the checkout counter.

Jayson’s POV

She turned around to leave, but something inside of me didn’t want her to go.  I decided to go to the checkout counter with her, but I didn’t really say anything, I just followed.

“That’ll be $17.95,” said the guy behind the counter to Summer. He had shaggy red hair and light brown eyes. A couple of dimples on his cheeks, and by the way Summer was looking at him, I guess she thought he might have a good build. All in all he he’s around the same age as me, maybe a year difference, tops.

“Here,” I say, giving him a fifty dollar note and handing him my book with Summer’s. She turns to look at me as if I’m crazy, but all I can do is shrug. It’s not that big of a deal.

“You can’t pay for it,” she stated, getting out her wallet “you barley know me.” Giving the guy a twenty dollar note, he looks at me confused giving me the fifty back.

“Yes I can and I am. Could you please give her the twenty back, I’ll be paying for both of the books,” I say matter-of-factly.  She just stands there looking bewildered until I say “You can pay me back by getting me ice cream.” She eyes me carefully, not sure of what to do.

“Fine, I have to meet up with my friends at the food court anyway,” The guy hands her the bag with the books.

I’m gonna finally ask her what I’ve been dying to know.
