I clear my throat before answering, debating on just throwing my phone in the plant to my right and walking away like nothing happened.
"Hello?"
"Crimson." Hunter speaks on the other line.
"Uhh, no?" I tryout only to earn silence. "Tough crowd." I murmur.
I hear him sigh. "Have you taken the weekend to rest and recuperate?" He asks, choosing to ignore my antics. Rude.
"Yes, this weekend has been... eventful." I pause in thought, trying to not laugh out loud at how it's gone.. "And your weekend?" I choose to the keep the peaceful conversation going rather than running my mouth since he doesn't sound mad.
He chuckles. "Oh, you know, kicked it off with Adam Pierce not very happy you came out on Friday."
"Wha-" I scoff. "Me? Ronda was the one who wasn't supposed to be out there! She was banned!" I take a deep breath, yelling on the phone in public to your boss won't earn you any brownie points... "And then she had my name in her mouth. Would have not have went out there?" I know for a fact Triple H would not have taken that.
"Which is exactly what I told him." Hunter cooly interjects. Good. "But."
"Noo, no need, no buts." I blow strands of hair out of my face, knowing what was coming.
"But." He continues anyways. "You did come in contact with a security member, and a referee, so you do have to be fined."
"Mmm." I hum. "Well, I believe Ronda paid enough money on Friday for the both of us." I point out, earning another chuckle from Hunter.
"Which I also told Adam Pierce. Your fine has been covered, courtesy of Ronda." He says.
Ah, this day just gets better and better. "Great!" I chirp, suddenly in a much better mood than when we started. "So I'm not in trouble?"
"You're always in trouble." Hunter quickly retorts.
"Hey!" I laugh.
"But no. You seem to always manage your way right out of it." I can feel his small smile through the phone screen.
I smirk. "Well, maybe if you didn't have favorites I wouldn't always be off the hook." I suggest. "Just saying."
"Mhmm." He drawls. "One more thing before I let you go." Oh, great. "We need to schedule you to update shots for our official website and for the WWE SuperCard." Oh, okay... whew. I haven't had to do anything for the SuperCard game, which I in fact play, since I won my last NXT belt. So it's been a while.
"I can do that." I love all that this job entails, even outside of wrestling in the ring. Getting to be apart of the app, the video game, social media posts, photo shoots, all of it is so much more than I could ever imagined growing up, so I will never complain about the side tasks. Though not everyone in this business may feel the way, we are also entertainers, and our jobs go beyond just wrestling in the ring. Talk shows, podcasts, meet and greets. I want it all, I want to soak up every second of it.
"And I assume you want Denise as your assigned photographer?" Hunter humors.
"Since the day I've been apart of this company, yes." I chuckle.
