As the river flowed slowly, gently moving rocks and other debris past me, I breathe deeper, my thoughts getting carried away with the water all my fears and bad feelings gone, rushed away by the ever winding stream. Snap. I sit up quickly to see a boy standing behind me, his hair is raven black and almost at his shoulders, his skin pale but illuminated by the slowly setting sun, his eyes bright and wide, they were blue like the water flowing next to me, as he sat down next to me he sighed and asked me for my name ... what is my name? My mind goes blank, while he stares at the ground slowly ripping the grass with his hands without looking up. "Em" I finally speak, he looks at me quizzically murmuring my name to himself as quietly as possible, he nods and lays down staring at the sky that's painted with yellows and pinks as the sun is halfway done with it's shift. I slowly lay back down next to him, taking in all his features, his hair has fallen to the ground by his face, his hands gently rested on his belly that's being lifted ever so slightly by his deep breathing, he has one leg propped up on a small rock while the other lays limp, his eyes slowly shut, like a blind over his blue gems. "J" he quickly mumbles, barely audible but still loud enough for me to hear, I've never seen him before but it seems to suit him so well, mysterious. We lay there for a couple minutes, not speaking just taking in our surroundings, the gentle rustle of the wind dancing between leaves, the gentle lapping of waves hitting the small bank and the quiet huff of our breaths every couple seconds. As I sit up to go I look at him one more time, his face is peaceful and calm as before it was filled with question and inquiry. I lifted myself off the ground dusting off my jeans before picking up the bag which I used as a pillow and slinging it onto my right shoulder as I slowly made my way back before I heard him say something. "Don't go" he began before opening his eyes only to look up the the now dark sky, "stay for a bit longer" he added before closing his eyes again. I didn't know what to do so I carried on walking back home, he sighed as his chest collapsed but it was gone 7 and my dinner was probably cold by now.

His eyes kept appearing in mine, the way his hair fell, the way he sighed and said don't go like he was holding onto the last pieces of hope that was left in him, my stomach felt like it's been kicked, the guilt set in like a uninvited blanket around me, the moon was up already, a full moon, like it was ready and eager for it's shift in the sky barely illuminating the path to my house but still enough to see the trees swaying, pointing me in the direction of the stream, like a sign. I let out a shaky breath as I pulled out my key and fumbled round before hearing a click and a small groan of the door, the lights were off, the only light coming in from the moon, still shown through the window, as I moved to kick off my shoes the light refracted through a small crack that was in the window making the light brighter and whiter I stayed there for a while admiring the beauty before I made my way up the stairs and crawled into my bed, his blue eyes flashes again in my mind before it all went dark and cold.
