Closer by Tegan and Sara+
I woke up with the sound of the birds chirping by my window. Kai's arms were wrapped around my torso and I wanted to get out of his grip without waking him up. But to my surprise, he was already awake but still kept me in his arms.
Once I faced him, I just gazed into his beautiful eyes. It was like I was being hypnotized and the sound of my phone ringing snapped me out of it.
"Nice ringtone." Kai commented while the song Closer by Tegan & Sara was playing from my phone. I reached for my phone by the nightstand beside me and answered the phone.
"Cora you need to come to the hospital." Elena told me. "What happened?" I inquired but Elena said that it was urgent, that I should be on my way right now. I hanged up my phone and immediately got ready as Kai stood up from bed.
"Wow leaving me for another guy already?" Kai joked as he walked towards me. "Funny. I have to go to the hospital, there's an emergency." I told him honestly, as I searched for my grey ribbed-caged t-shirt dress.
"You sure do love being the hero, don't you?" Kai questioned, after I had made a huge mess, but I found my t-shirt dress and changed quickly. "Saving people, healing them." Kai continued.
"That's all I ever wanted to do." I admitted as I stood in front of fully dressed. Kai smirked and let out a short chuckle as he gazed at me. "I like that." He commented and I tried so hard to ignore the irony since he was the complete opposite. "I like that you have something passionate." He later elaborated.
Before I left, I gave him a short smile as I left my apartment, grabbing the keys to my car.

I rushed inside the hospital and scanned my eyes looking for Elena. She came around the corner from down the hall, waving at me to come over. She leaded me to the room where Caroline's mother was getting a blood transfusion.
"Cora it's has gotten a lot worse. Caroline thought that she was saving her mother once she tested her blood on a cancer patient, but that went terribly wrong. His cancer killed him and he turned into a vampire with his terminal cancer, agonizing him. Care didn't knew that till afterwards and now it's too late. We could only depend on the blood transfusion." Elena explained.
My first instinct was to talk to Caroline, I rushed towards her and Stefan left allowing us to talk privately. I hugged her tightly, comforting her as she sobbed onto my chest.
"It's all my fault. I killed my mother." Caroline said, I pulled her off my chest and placed my hands on her shoulders and looked at her in the eyes. "No you didn't Care. She's right there, she's here. You thought that you were doing the right thing." I tried to convince her that this wasn't her fault.
She was only in the best interest of her mother, there was no wrong in that. "But if I had only waited a day--" She cried out but I cut her off. "No, if I had known that vampire blood could've cured my mother, I would've gave to her in a heartbeat." I confessed.
"What am I supposed to do?" Caroline desperately asked. It broke my heart seeing her so sad and guilty about this. "Be with her." I answered but Caroline denied. "I can't even look at her after doing this to her. I'm sorry Cora, I need to go." Caroline sniffled and walked away, exiting the hospital.
"I'll go watch her." Stefan told me once he followed her out.

Moments had passed by and Jo had the verdict whether the blood transfusion was a success or not. And unfortunately, it wasn't a success. The room was silent, and everyone was stressed and heartbroken by the news.
"Oh my God. This can't be happening, and Caroline. Oh God." Elena said, speaking out her thoughts. "It's okay--" Liz spoke but Damon cut her off. "No it's not Liz. There's no way I'm letting you die like the other guy."
I was thinking of ways to get the blood out of Liz's system. There was no way we could drain it out, then I suddenly found a resolution. Vampires were originated by spell from a witch using magic. So we needed to remove the magic running through her veins, and I know exactly who could do the job.
"I know how to save Liz."
+
"Would you come over for free magic?" I asked Kai on the phone in the hallway, away from Damon, Elena and Liz. "Why do I feel like this is a trap? I tend to be outrageous and self-destructive when it comes to being fooled." Kai explained bluntly.
"It's not a trap. Look, Caroline's mom has vampire blood in her and eventually it's gonna kill her, we just need to you to siphone the magic from her." I said honestly. Kai paused for a moment then brought up the word "we."
"We? As in you, and the other of my archenemies?" Kai responded and I agreed, then Kai began to chuckle. In that moment I sensed that Kai had an idea, such as information or a favour.
"Please don't tell me that you want something in return. You're helping us and you're getting magic, it's a win-win." I blurted out, informing Kai. "Don't worry, I'm on my way." He said before hanging up.
+
"This better work." Damon told me as he looked at Kai with disgust. "It will." I said in confidence. Before Kai laid his hands on Liz, he warned her of the pain she will feel.
"Oh and one catch. I want to merge with Jo. Tonight." I was shocked and surprised. There was no way Jo was ready and the fact that Kai dropped the bomb in front Liz's life, caused Damon to choose an irrational decision.
"Fine, just do it." Damon demanded. Kai washed his hands, being prepared. "Alright I will need a 12 gate needle stat." He joked. "You're not a doctor." I commented.
"I am vampire and I will rip your head off if you screw this up." Elena threatened. Kai wasn't scared or intimated at all, he was actually entertained by the threat and smiled. "Just suck the magic out of her, would ya." Damon snapped.
"I see what you both got. It's dysfunctional." Kai laughed out. "Dys-fun-ctional, see?" He explained the joke and all I could do was cover my face with my hand, cause I couldn't believe that I liked this idiot.
Right when Kai was about to begin removing the magic, Jo walked in petrified.
"What the hell? Why is he here?" She asked angrily. "Sorry sissy, I'm busy. Be with ya in a giffy." Kai snarked.
Damon left to explain what was the plan while Elena kept caution of Kai. "Cora how are we supposed to know if it's working?""If Kai feels the magic within Liz, then he will siphon it, then the magic will be gone." I explained logically. "But what if it he doesn't feel it? Like that obviously happens."
Elena asked as she referred to Kai not realizing that I was basically a witch. Even though that Elena was worried for Liz's health, she shouldn't had nearly exposed me like that.
"Relax, Elena it's working." Kai began to siphoned the magic from Liz as she was going through pain, briefly. After a few seconds, Kai finished and all we could do was wait for Liz to feel better. But out of the blue, Liz began to have a heart attack.
"Oh my god, someone call Jo!" Elena shouted as Kai disappeared in thin air. I ran out of the room, looking for Jo but I was too late once I had seen Damon lying on the floor unconscious.
