Short scary stories

The painting

   A traveler is still going when it gets dark. He sees a house ahead with the door wide open.
    It looks abandoned so he goes in and gets in a bed.
     Then he sees on the wall a very creepy painting.  It's a man with a maniac smile and pitch black eye sockets.
    The traveler later falls into a restless sleep.
    The next morning the painting is gone.
   Then the man realizes that the "painting" was a window.
