When The Wind Cuts The Sea - Furina And Wanderer's First Meeting

Fontaine, the nation of Hydro. For some reason, Buer wanted me to come here and learn more about the people here and compare them to those in Sumeru. Said something about it being a special assignment I'd have to carry out to graduate. Although, knowing how she does things... It's probably another attempt to make me go out and make friends.

I don't see why she's insistent on making me do so. It's not like I need anyone like that. I only need myself. Besides, having Mini Durin should be more than enough to get her off my case.

"W-w-what do you mean there are no more cakes in stock? N-no, this can't be!"

Great. The first thing I hear while in this city is a loud-mouthed girl who can't understand the concept of something being done. Well, it's not my problem. No need to get myself involved with her foolishness.

"Hey, you over there!" The girl yelled... In my direction. It's clear that she's calling out to me, but there's no need for me to acknowledge her. "H-hey! I'm talking to you! Don't just walk away from me!"

Seriously? She doesn't even know me, but she's making all this noise to catch my attention. I would understand if she knew me beforehand, but that's not the case. The two of us are strangers. Nothing more, nothing less.

I picked up the pace and moved further away from her, not turning back on any of her many requests for me to stop. Eventually, I didn't hear her anymore. Her voice faded into the distance, and I was finally relieved of all the noise I once heard. The faint clicking of the gardemek's gears turning, the pattering of footsteps, and-

"HEYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!" The screaming of a girl I wanted to get rid of...

What is with this guy? I've been calling after him for so long, but he's never looked at me even once. That's no way to treat a mademoiselle like myself. I should be treated with respect! 

"Hey! Could you stop for a moment? I need to talk with you!" I yelled out, hoping that he would stop and listen to me. He didn't.

Not only did he not stop, but he walked away even faster than before, leaving me behind in the dust. It was so bad that I needed to run to even be "close" to him.

"HEYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!"

I screamed out as loud as I could to get this guy's attention, and to my surprise, he finally stopped. 

"What? What could you possibly want from me, a complete stranger that you had to call out for me like this?"

He's a real rude one. I do understand that I might've gone too far in trying to get his attention, but in my defense, he was purposefully ignoring me, so I had to do what I could to be noticed. 

"I just wanted to ask you a question or two. Is that so wrong?"

"Yes, it is. Leave me alone." 

How rude!

He started to walk off once more, leaving me behind. But this time, I wasn't going to let him. I quickly ran up to him and grabbed him by his arm.

"It's rude to walk away from someone as they're speaking to you. Have you ever learned any manners?"

"You say that, yet you latch onto the arm of someone you don't even know and excuse it as trying to ask them a question. Pathetic."

Just what is it with this guy? Why is he so pessimistic? Did he get abandoned as a child or something? 

Nevermind.

"Just answer one question, and I'll leave you alone. Fair?"

He didn't look at me, a silence passing over us. I will admit, it made me quite nervous, but not too long after, he finally started talking. 

"Fine, one question. But only one question." 

Yes!

"Alright!" Ahem. "What region are you from? I can't tell at all from your attire."

"Why does something like that matter to you?"

"Well, I'm curious, as I've never really been out of Fontaine. I've only ever visited Liyue once for Lanturn rite."

The boy let out a sigh and dragged his arm away from me, fixing his hat. 

"I was born in Inazuma and grew up in Sumeru. Satisfied?"

Yes, I am most definitely satisfied! Not.

"Yes and no. What are you doing here in Fontaine I mean?"

"Just what are you up to?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"No one, and I mean no one just goes around asking someone random questions like this unless they wanted something out of them. So I have to ask you now, what do you possibly want from me?" 

Why is he so...? Suspicious of me? I'm just a little curious... Is that so wrong?

"I just want to have a little talk with a foreigner is all... I really don't want anything more than that. So please just indulge in this small conversation with me?"

"No." 

With that, he shot himself off the ground and started.... Flying away? I didn't even realize he was a vision holder... Maybe I was questioning him too much... I hope that I didn't make him mad or anything.

With those thoughts in her mind, Furina walked back to her house, holding her head down slightly in shame. This former hydro archon has a lot to learn about striking up a conversation with people.

That was the end of this everyone. Sorry if it doesn't make sense as I've had this sitting for a few weeks now. I was unaware what my intentions were when I first started this so I just tried to fill in the gaps with what I had in mind now. Anyway's I'll get going now.
