Chapter 4: Meeting The Neighbors

Sophie and I have been in Terra Nova for 3 days and we have already encountered Slashers but they stayed outside the gates and we both got jobs where we wanted to. "Hey James," Sophie called from the living room. "What," I yelled back. "We should get to know some of the people here," she said. "Ok, but how," I asked. "Just go across the street and meet our neighbors," Sophie said like I wasn't the smartest. "Ok I'll go meet the Shannon family," I said as I grabbed my jacket and shoes. I walked across the street and knocked on the door of the Shannon's house. "Coming," A boy yelled. The boy walked to the door and opened it. "Hi I'm James I live across the street with my friend Sophie," I said introducing myself. "I'm Josh and I live here," He said with a small laugh. "Ok well we just wanted to see if you and your family would like to come for dinner," I asked. "Sure just let me run and ask mom and dad if that's cool. You can come in if you want," Josh said as he motioned me in the house. "Thanks," I said. "Hey mom come meet our new neighbor James. He invited us to dinner," Josh called to his mom.  "Hello James, I'm Elisabeth Shannon," She said when she walked out of her room. "Hi, so do you guys wanna come to dinner," I asked. "We would be delighted," Elisabeth said. "Awesome, I'll go tell Sophie we will have visitors tonight," I said as I started walking out. "Sophie? Oh Sophie she works at the clinic with me, she is a great trainee nurse," Elisabeth said with a smile. "Cool, I'll be sure to tell her you are coming," I said as I left the Shannon's house. I walked back across the street and noticed our neighbors that lived beside us were home. "Hey Sophie I'm going to meet our other neighbors," I called in the door. "Ok," she called back. "Oh and we are having the Shannon family over for dinner," I hollered back. "Ok I'll make some sort of spaghetti or something," she yelled back. I walked along the side of the road to the next house and knocked on the door. "Yo," a girl said as she walked to the door. She opened the door and smiled. "Hi I'm James I live beside you. Would you like to come over for dinner," I asked. "I'm Flora and sure," Flora said politely. "Awesome," I replied.
