Maybe, Excuse Me?

~Lucy's POV~

"What!!??" I yell at my parents. "Today is my eighteenth birthday! I should be able to spend the day how I want to! I shouldn't have to go to a meeting slash dinner with the two of you! That is so boring! First, I'm not allowed to have a boyfriend my whole life and now you're taking away my eighteenth birthday too!?" I complain to them. Yes, I went overboard, but still. It's my birthday and want to make them feel like crap for taking away my birthday.

"Lucy Heartfilia. That's enough. You will do as I say. You may be eighteen, but you are still acting like a child." My mother Layla Heartfilia tells me. That was her stern voice that she rarely uses, so I know there is no way out of this one. I sigh.

I get out of bed. Yes, they decided to wake me up at 7:00 in the morning to tell me that I will be attending a meeting/dinner with them tonight at their best friends house. Which so happens to be the world famous Dragneels Company owner. I know that is Natsu Dragneels father, so he will most likely be there too. We absolutely hate each others guts. We go to the same school, Fairy Academy. We are both seniors and we both have had the same classes as each other ever since we started school at the age of 4.

He can't stand the fact that I'm the only girl that doesn't worship at his feet. I hate the fact that every girl does worship at his feet. Yes, he's incredibly attractive with his spiky pink hair, black eyes, and his lean and muscular body. So what though!? It doesn't mean that every girl on the planet has to fall head over heels in love with him the second they see him. I sigh. This is going to be an interesting evening.

I walk over to my white dresser and open up my bathing suit drawer. As I'm debating on which one I should wear, I hear a knock on my door. "Come in!" I call. I look over and see my little sister Wendy walk in, she's only thirteen years old. She's really close to Grandine Dragneel, which is Igneel Dragneel wife. He's the owner of the Dragneel company and the father of Natsu Dragneel himself. I on the other hand go over there as little as possible.

"Hello Lucy-nee! Are you excited to go to Grandines house!? I can't wait to see Romeo!" She blushes. I smile at her. Romeo was taken in by the Dragneels when he was 11. His father died in a car accident. He owned a big company and had a lot of money, but Romeo can't access that until he turns 18, so the Dragneels decided to take care of the company and Romeo until he turns 18 and can run the business himself. I thought that was really nice of them.

She looks at what I'm doing and says "The blue one." She smiles at me. I smile back at her and pick up the blue bathing suit.

I go to the bathroom and change into the bathing suit. I get a pink towel from the cabinet and walk out. I walk down the stairs and go to the pool room. There is an eight foot squared pool and beside it is a little round hot tub. I go to the hot tub and relax.

I think about what to wear tonight. I mentally go through my huge closest. Hmmm should I wear blue? Red? Pink? I sigh. I don't know. I really don't wanna go. I mentally choose a cyan dress with heels that match. I want to look good for Natsu, not as in I want to make him fall for me kind of look, but I want to make him furious that I don't fall for him, because he knows he can't have me whenever he pleases.

I then realize that twenty minutes have passed, so I get out. It's terrible for your skin if you stay in past twenty minutes. I immediately go back to my room to take a shower. I get out and get dressed in casual clothes. It's only eight now and I have till seven tonight to get dressed. I call up the girls and ask them to come over for my birthday. They all squeal and agree to come over. They all show up within thirty minutes. Levy and Juvia come in first, then it's Erza and Mirajane. Mira walked in with a cake, which Erza kept eyeing, which means it's most likely a strawberry cake. I smile at all of them.
