Okay, so we've all had our BloodClan OC at some point. I had mine and she was Scourge's mate and her name was Mad. Ever since The Darkest Hour and The Rise of Socurge came out, it's like everyone in the fandom went BloodClan crazy. I see OCs and comics for Scourge's mate, son, daughter, granddaughter (serenitywhitewolf if you're reading this, don't be offended, Eyes of the Raven is amazing and keep writing it) and some of them are actually really popular.
Here's the point, BloodClan is okay to use as the main plotline for your story but if possible, don't use it as some sort of filler. Don't have all your warriors clan stuff going on and then suddenly, *poof* BloodClan tries to take forest again and major battle happens blah, blah, blah. Just don't...
How to correctly include BloodClan is to build up during your plotline why BloodClan is there and how it would relate to your story. But if you don't want to do that because it's too much work, don't include BloodClan at all.
So if you want to write a series accurate fanfiction about BloodClan, here are 10 helpful tips:
1. Scourge never had a mate or kits
2. BloodClan cats do not believe in StarClan
3. Scourge truly died and did not come back to life after Firestar killed him.
4. Scourge did not go to the Dark Forest
5. Most likely, Scourge had a purple collar with ice blue eyes and one white paw. No other white marks and no emo hair cuts.
6. BloodClan fell apart after Scourge died and Bone was killed in the battle with the clans so he couldn't take charge when they left and get revenge.
7. Ashfur would have never met Scourge and he died before Ashfur (Ashpaw at the time) could actually have a chance to meet him.
8. Firestar probably never had met Scourge or learned that he was his half-brother before the battle.
9. Scourge never had 9 lives (also because of Facts 2 and 3 explain this)
10. Scourge was never a blood thirsty, emo haired, freak. Cats don't have hair...or emo cats...
(Edit 10/2/15) 11. BloodClan cats have names that are one word like Boulder or Hawk. They don't have warrior names or two part names like Bloodmoon or Brokenheart, leave alone leader names.
