Who's Your Daddy ?

After the most awkward brunch I ever had, I went to Mr and Mrs Alvarez's (might as well call them it now) hotel room, which was like Javier's a huge suite. Damn rich people.

I found their room number after a long struggle with the identical and extensive halls. Could they color code at least ? Maybe by doors or something ?

Marius swung open the door smiling, but frazzled. He welcomed me in with a whisper and I responded in my normal volume. His face twisted into a grimace as a long list of profanities left Vienna's mouth. I stood shocked as she rose up from the elegant chaise across the living space. Apparently after I retired early last night, she and her sisters drank enough alcohol to knock out a horse. The three of them were in a losing battle against a massive hangover. Exactly why I hesitated with alcohol.

"Sorry !" I whispered and she flipped me off with a weak smile. Marius brought his bride a cool glass of water and fixed the ice pack on her head. It was subtle but romantic and I felt all mushy, yet awkward for watching with hopeful eyes.

Vienna peeked from under her sunglasses at me staring back at her in the dimly lit room. She patted the area next to her and I gladly took it. Marius disappeared to take a work call as Vienna smiled through her pain.

"I'm so nervous, Karenina. Not because of who I'm marrying because I know he's it. I'm nervous because I want it to be perfect tomorrow. He's the most amazingly horrible man and I say that positively. He has faults and I have my own, a lot on my side. Marius deserves perfection and I don't know if I can give it. He's too good for me." Her voice was in a low whisper afraid he'd hear her insecurities.

I sat up with a frown. Literally sitting next to me is the world's most perfect blonde. Marius has never even said a single negative word about her. A long breath gave me the power to speak.

"Vienna, if you're not nervous then there's a problem. You both have waited all your lives to find your forever. Now that it's here you should be scared as hell, but together. I'm sure Marius, below his manly pride, is freaking out. Love is not controllable and you both are used to having control, it's human nature. Having no control is what makes it deep though. It's kind of romantic thinking that there is a power beyond us that makes us do crazy shit for another person. Your wedding won't be perfect nor will your marriage, but you're going through it beside one and another as equals." I was too into my speech to realize Vienna was weeping next to me. My eyes widened as she smiled. How hung over is she ?

"I should've made you Maid of Honor. You're good with words, Karenina." I gave a light smile back and she surprised me with a hug that squeeze my insides. "Okay enough of the mushy mush. Time to get pampered !" Vienna cursed a few more times standing up and when she had to remove her sunglasses at the spa.

Javier's P.O.V

I stood up in the full length body mirror as the little bald man tending to my suit scurries around. He has a tape measure around his neck and a pencil in his mouth. As I watch him double check its fitting, Marius waltzed in happy and sappy.

"Muy perfecto mi hermano." He remarked with approval. My suit was black but well fitted in all the right places. My tie is Ruby red according to the color theme, red and white, and the bridesmaids and groomsmen must wear it. I managed to convince my brother that I could wear shoes of my choice and he caved. They were a tan pair of loafers with a heel. If I was going to this thing, I was wearing whatever shoes I wanted to.

"You trying to impress someone, Javi ?"  Marius pressed. I only looked at him through the mirror and smiled.

"Yes I am."
