With that confidence boost I walked into my roll classroom and greeted my friends in the roll call who I muck around with in this class room.
"Aye Nate! Where were you? Pulling the bitches" Jake holla-ed at me
"Left, right and center" I said to him giving Liam a fist bump as I sat in a spinny chair
"Hey miss, how are you today?" I said to possibly the youngest teacher here
"Nate, please be quiet"
"Miss why are you upset?" Liam called out
"Haven't had a cone yet?" Continued Liam
Liam is the biggest stoner I know. Doesn't mean he's any less of a mate, just means he smokes. No biggie.
"No Liam, I haven't" answered miss while laughing at us
Miss is also the only teacher who will admit that they smoke
"Miss can me Liam and Nate take the roll?" Jake called out standing up to go get the roll
"No Jake. You can take the roll but not all three of you" Miss told us in a bored tone
"That's not fair" "Rubbish" me and Liam said at the same time
I started to get up and inch towards the door to escape
"Nate, I know what you're doing. You do this every lesson" Miss said jokingly while pointing a finger at me stopping me in my tracks
"It's a bullshit lesson, this isn't even a lesson. This is getting your name marked off and sitting here for 15 minutes, doing fuck all" I said continuing to inch to the door
"Yes it is, but I can't let you leave" Miss countered
"Here, how about this. I look down for 10 seconds. That's all you get. And you boys and only you boys can leave the class room. If you're not out by then you have to stay" Miss said offering us freedom
"Deal!" We all shouted as she closed her eyes counting from ten.
We were all out through the door before she even hit 8
We were walking down the hallway jumping around and shouting disrupting the other classes
"Where are you three meant to be?" We heard someone call out behind us
As quickly as they said it we ran from our original spot,down the stairs and around behind the corner
Laughing we all said goodbye as we took our separate ways towards our different groups.
I walked slowly over to where I sit, taking a few detours I arrive at where I usually sit.
I walk around the small area kicking a foil ball around occasionally saying 'hey' to the people who escape as well or having small conversations with them.
Finally the bell rings and the people start to rush out
"Nate!!" I heard April yell from across the area. She doesn't seem happy to see me
"Uhh... Hey April" I say nervously
"Why did you tell Annie that you didn't like her? I thought you two would be really cute and I wanted to play cupid" April looks at me pouting her lip
Ouch.
"I'm sorry April, I just don't like her" I said to her opening my arms for a hug from her
It's because she's not you I wanted to tell her
"I want you to be happy, I want to let you have someone who can make you happy" She mumbled into my shirt as she wrapped her little arms around me
"I know April" I mumbled into her hair
