It was the end of the day, and Fahima texted her if Sahara wanted a ride home, and she just could not pass up the chance of not taking the TTC.
She saw her brother, Russell leaving his class with his friends. She quickly tapped him on the shoulders.
"What?' he asked annoyingly.
"Whoa, watch the attitude bro!" Sahara says her nose scrunching up. "I just wanted to know if you'd like a ride home?"
"No thanks, I rather take the bus." He turned away before Sahara could even get another word in.
"Prick," she mutters, walking away. She wonder what girl would ever, find him even remotely attractive with such a sour personality like that.
She had girls from their grade come up to her asking her about him because they were interested. Every one of those conversations left Sahara feeling sick to her stomach, but those girls never once considered that.
She knew her brother was attractive, physically, because his personality was heinous.
Now that she thought about it, her brothers were all pretty -- well, not ugly. Like they were 'easy on the eyes', according to girls at the school. I guess Sahara had her parents' wonderful genes to thank for that one.
Their father was originally from Greece, and came to Canada with his family when he was just eleven years old. They've heard countless stories regarding their dad's days back in Greece. Even though they left to sought a better life, Greece would forever be great in the eyes of Castro Caballarios.
Sahara and her brothers' upbringings were heavily influences of Greek culture, specifically religion customs.
Her father is a black man, but he had a pale, light brown complexion, almost a fawn coloured tone, and was often mistaken for a white man, if his afro wooly hair was covered up.
Out of her three brothers, Russell took off of their father the most, in the looks' department. They both have an inverted, triangle like head, with a low-cut, light brown afro style. Both Russell and their dad has the same cheeky smile that made their eyes crinkle -- except Russell had round bug-like eyes whereas Mr. Caballarios had small, titled eyes.
Russell has a long, straight nose like their father, but unlike their dad, Russell had a slightly darker complexion. Both Russell and Teodor had toffee-like skin complexion and light brown hair.
Sahara brushed off the negative feeling, and went to the doors that led to the school's parking lot. She quickly grazed the parking lot, searching for Fahima's grey, Escalade. She spotted it, and already saw Adena and Kailani standing by the Fahima's truck doors. They looked as if they were debating on something.
"Hey guys!" Sahara says in a cheerful tone. "What are you talking about?" Adena and Kailani were so deep in their discussion that, they did not even realize that Sahara had walked up to them. They quickly glanced at each other and then turned to Sahara. Adena with a relaxed smile, and Kailani with a nervous grin. Sahara pursed her lips, looking between the two girl knowing something was up.
"Oh, nothing, bella!" Adena linked arms with Sahara, her smile tugging broader. "We were just talking about how we are gonna sexify you up," she finishes, popping the p.
"Speaking of semi, we need to go shopping soon! Oh, and did you buy the ticket?" asked Adena with a playful, stern look. Sahara shrugged and took out her ticket as proof to Adena.
Sahara knew she was holding back something when Kailani's face didn't fully relax, but she wasn't going to push more on the subject. She would find out eventually. Sometimes she had this icky feeling that her friends thought she was stupid. They were constantly hiding things from her because: 'We just thought it was best if you didn't know for now.'
