I was out with Rita and we walked into this adorable looking cafe. I was looking around and then spotted a beautiful y/h/c hair girl working at the counter. I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and I ran right into a plant. I could hear Rita laughing beside me. " Real smooth." She said through her laughs

I felt my face getting warm and looked anywhere, but the girl working the counter. " What even made you space out?" Rita asked if I didn't make any move to answer. " Wait, don't tell me it's because of the girl." She said

I felt my face heat up which made Rita let out a laugh. " It's the girl, holy shit. Do you want me to get her number for you?" She asked

I shook my head. Soon we were the next ones in line. I was getting more nervous. " Hello, what can I get you?" She asked

Her voice was like music to my ears. Rita went first to order her drink. Then her gorgeous eyes landed on me. " I'll just have a small coffee." She nodded and told me the amount before I handed her the cash. "Keep the change." I said

" Oh um, I personally can't take tips." She softly said

" But I insist that you keep it." I said before walking to the side waiting for my drink. Rita nudged me and gave me a teasing smile, which made me roll my eyes. " Joshua!" She called out, making me turn to the counter. I walked over and grabbed both drinks. " Thanks..." I said pausing

She smiled before saying, " Y/n"

Your POV
I watched him walk away with a beautiful girl. I shouldn't be surprised that a cute guy in LA is already taken, it happens to me more then you can count. I then started going back to work.

I just got back to my dorm room and I was leaning against my small kitchen waiting for the leftovers to warm up. I tried to find the guys' socials just so I can do a little stalking. I know I shouldn't because he's got a girlfriend. Before I even got a chance to stalk him my food was ready.

Joshua's POV

All night I couldn't stop thinking of the girl I met at the cafe. I started spamming Rita about what I was thinking, but of course she didn't answer me. So I just decided to try to fall asleep.

I woke up and decided to go back to the cafe to see if I could talk to her some more. I quickly got up and ready before grabbing my keys and headed out the door.

While I was driving I was getting a little nervous because I'm about to see the cute girl from yesterday. I pulled into the parking lot not realizing how close I lived to it. I took some deep breaths before I walked in. I scanned the front but I didn't see her which made me wonder.

" Hi, what can I get you?" I heard which made me look. I told him my order then I got the urge to just ask about her.

" Is Y/n working today by chance?"

He looked over, " Yea, she works the closing shift."

I nod and tell him thanks before going over to the other side to wait for my drink.

Your POV

I rushed into the cafe throwing my hair up trying not to be late due to my class running late.

" Hey Dean" I said to my co-worker

He waved while still serving customers. I moved to help out with making the drinks and soon the evening rush died down.

" A guy asked about you this morning while you were in class." he told me

I looked up from cleaning the coffee maker. " What?" I asked

He smirked, " Yea he had brown curls." I felt a smile form only to hear Dean teasing voice. " Ooh, does someone have a crush."

" No, don't start." I said

Dean chuckled and went back to cleaning then the door rang due to the little bell in the cafe door. " Oh look, your crush walked in." Dean said

I looked up confused then down. " Shit." I whispered to myself

" He's all yours Y/n/n." Dean said walking into the back to do god knows what. " Hey." I softly said while wiping my hands on my apron

" Hey" He said

" Can I get you anything?" I asked

" You're number maybe?" He said confidently

I looked at him a little shocked. " How about you order something first?"

He smiled and ordered a drink. I went to make his drink and then I wrote on the side of his cup. 'take me out first'

" Here's your drink." I said

Joshua's POV

She handed me my drink and I went to ask but saw her note and chuckled. " Okay fair, would you like to go out with me after your shift maybe." I said nervously since I was sure she already had plans. I heard her let out a giggle. " Wait, what about your girlfriend?" she said, making me confused. " I don't have one, oh wait are you talking about Rita." I questioned

She nods, " Oh she's my childhood friend." I said

" Good to know, then sure I would love to go out with you after my shift." She said

I smiled and nodded, " How much longer are you on for?"

She looked at the clock. " In about five minutes." I nodded and went to the side so I could keep talking to her.

" So do you normally work the night shifts." I questioned

She smiled while tucking her hair behind her ear that I was staring at trying not to do it myself. " Yea cause I have classes in the morning." She said

I raised my brow, " College?" I questioned

She chuckled and nodded while going back to cleaning the counters.

I smiled at her from across the table while she was telling me what happened to her in class. " This really happened." I said with a chuckle

She nods, " Yea my pen flung out of my hand hitting the person across from me." We laughed some more and soon the date was coming to an end which made me sad. " I don't want this to end." I softly said

She smiled and gently placed her hand on my own hand that was on the table. " Maybe we can go out on another one soon." She softly said

" Sounds like a plan, but I think you still owe me your number." I teased

She smiled and held her hand out. " Phone" which makes me hand her my phone

" Call me for the next one." She whispered, kissing my cheek making me get flustered. I'm so glad I paid cause I got up to follow after her.

" Thanks for dinner, Josh." She softly said

" No problem, can't wait to do it again, Y/n." I said watching her get in the car. I couldn't help but keep the dopey smile on my face, while already thinking of ideas for the next one.
